The sound of the rain was still audible when Rafael opened his eyes. He pulled the arm that cushioned his wife's sleep. Rafael slowly moved Jasmine's head to make her feel more comfortable.
It was noon, but it felt like 4 pm because of the cloudy weather and heavy rain. Almost every day, it rains, wet this country—many news reports of floods and landslides. Several sections of the capital's streets were also flooded, causing traffic jams everywhere. The weather is getting unfriendly, the earth is dying, maybe because of human activity itself.
Rafael squirmed slowly. He then adjusted the blanket so Jasmine's body wouldn't get cold.
The man got out of bed. At least he had to prepare something for their lunch. But the scene changed. He glanced at his cellphone, which was lying not far from his backpack.
