"You're here," Evy said as she opened the door for Iyan and he smiled.
"You sounded desperate over the phone, so here I am,"
"What's up"he said and sat down.
"I was thinking just maybe your offer about teaching me how to fight like you still stands," Evy asked offering him a cup of coffee.
"Sure," Iyan answered, sipping his coffee.
"You'll also need to learn how to use different types of gun, that's if you're still thinking of your revenge,"he said and Evy nodded.
"Can we start tomorrow?" She asked and he nodded.
"Anytime is fine by me," he added.
"That aside, the main reason why I called you is because I need ideas on a business proposal to help me stay out of the country for a long time," Evy said.
"Well how about opening a branch of Katz mall in Kuda," Iyan suggested.
"That's not a bad idea, why didn't I think of that?" Evy said after a while.
"Prepare a proposal before the end of the week," she said.
"Just so you know, you're coming with me to Kuda,"
"No objections," Iyan smiled.
"By the way, what do you think about Steve leading emerald dragon while we are away," she asked.
"He can be trusted, we've been besties since I came to the US," Iyan said.
"I'm still looking for who'ld help me with Katz corporation," Evy sighed.
They both fell silent, each in their own thoughts.
"How about Yvonne?" Iyan suddenly said.
"You mean dad's former secretary?" Evy asked.
"Yes, boss trusted her with the company whenever he went on vacation or outside business, moreover she's been with the company long enough," Iyan explained.
"Well if dad trusts her, I can only do same,"
"Where's she now?"Evy asked.
"She quit after boss left, but I know where she is, I could talk to her tomorrow," Iyan said.
"OK, i'll trust you with that, I need to prepare for work," Evy went up the stairs and few minutes later she came down putting on a black V-neck gown which was just few inches below the knee, with a slit at the back. She was on black stilleto heels and was carrying a black handbag, her black straight hair cascaded down her back. She looked very professional.
Iyan drove her to work then left to carry out his task.
"Good morning ma'am," every employee Evy passed by on her way to her office greeted.
Her office was a very big and magnificent office, five well spaced offices could be made out of it, yet it was all hers.
It was made of transparent glass which could be frosted just by pressing a remote control, the most beautiful part was it was on the highest floor of the 30 storey building and overlooking the city.
It could get really romantic at night, given the close view of the stars and moon.
"A lot of work to do," Evy sighed as she went through the documents on her table.
She needed to do a thorough clean up of the company before she left.
She picked up the telephone.
"I want all departments to get me everything they have over the years, nothing should be omitted." Evy said.
"And get me the files on Mr Adams proposal," she said and hung up the call.
Seconds later a very beautiful blonde came in, she was putting on a grey knee length pencil skirt and white long sleeves shirt, her hair was tied in a bun.
"Here it is ma'am," she said.
"Thanks," Evy collected the file and went through it shaking her head.
She took up her fountain pen, crossed some things out and wrote down a note.
"Give this back to Adams, I can't believe how incompetent he is, I want a well detailed and organized proposal, not this trash," she said.
"Yes ma'am,"
After few hours, Evy got off work feeling extremely wasted.
"Welcome home miss Katz," Sarah, the housekeeper greeted.
"Thank you," Evy replied going up the stairs.
She took her bath and changed into a Grey gown then came down for dinner.
The next day Evy went to the office and saw boxes in her office, over hundreds of box, she had a lot of work to do. She got to work with her secretary and they started going through the files.
After work, Iyan came over and they trained, he made her run around with heavy stuffs and walked long distances, she did some stretches, push ups, lounge and all other body fitness exercises, then he taught her to fight, street style.
Her former trainer was a retired military man, so learning from Iyan wasn't all that hard, although she learnt new tricks.
Iyan also taught her how to use different kind and types of gun, within two weeks she was a pro at shooting and her fighting skills had improved a lot. With the help of her secretary and Iyan, she was also able to go through all the files in those two weeks.
"The proposal is ready," Iyan informed Evy over the phone one day.
"Ok, i'll meet you at work," Evy replied and hung up the call.
"Call for a board meeting," she told her secretary, Samantha.
The meeting wasn't so smooth, most of them objected, claiming Kuda wasn't a very known country and isn't worth their products, but after Evy reminded them that Kuda was a business thriving country and moreover all of them were only after money, doesn't matter how the money came in right? They all shut up and agreed to the proposal.
Then the issue about her as the CEO leaving the company for such small business, Evy told them as it was their first business in Kuda, it was only right if she went herself, and she wasn't going alone, Mr Iyan stone was going with her, she also had Miss yvonne Miller to take care of the company in her absence.
Seeing how prepared Evy was, they didn't object.
"Have someone keep an eye on miss Miller," Evy said to Iyan. For some reason, she couldn't trust Yvonne, she was getting this strange vibe from her and she couldn't over look it.
The next day, Evy did a thorough sweep of the company, based on the files she went through, before handing it over to Yvonne.
"I've booked us flight tickets to Kuda, we would be leaving tomorrow evening," Iyan said during dinner.
"That's perfect, everything else is in place right?"
"Yes." Iyan replied.
"Finally, we're starting," she smiled, sipping her wine.
The next day, Evy took Iyan shopping and both various types of suits for him, they bought casual wears, shoes, wristwatches, eyeglasses, and all other necessary things for him, then they went to the women department and picked out a few things for Evy and headed home by noon.
"Let's have a drink together, it's our last day in this house and we don't know when we'll return," Evy suggested and Iyan nodded.
She poured them a bottle of red wine and they sat down to drink.
"I can't believe after so many years, I'm just hours away from setting my plans in motion," Evy sighed and Iyan smiled.
"It's time to leave," Iyan announced and Evy stood up.
" let's go," she said straightening her cloth.
"Miss Katz," Sarah called and hugged Evy.
"Take care of yourself okay?" She said.
"I will, you too Sarah,"Evy said and kissed her forehead.
"I'll be back before you even know it," she added and they left.
"Can we stop somewhere before going to the airport?" She asked and Iyan nodded.
Evy dropped the flower bouquet on Britt's tomb and lighted the scented candles.
"Mom, finally i'm going to get what i've always wanted, I don't know when i'll be here again, but until then, take care of yourself and... Don't worry about me, just as you instructed, Iyan is going with me, I won't get hurt so please rest in peace. I love you so much mom."
Minutes later they were on their way to Kuda.
