Anger fuels back in her confidence, "And you expect me to believe that?"
Kai drops his gaze, letting out a chuckle. He takes a step closer to her, leaning close to her face to whisper in her ear but Aubrey refuses to falter. "Listen, sweetheart—"
"Stop calling me that."
"—anything that involves women," He begins pointing at the women seated in the shop. "Especially middle-aged and old-aged, has nothing to do with me."
Aubrey shifts her eyes to him, just in time to see his devilish smirk. She hates it whenever the gods speak in ways she cannot understand; they enjoy playing games. That, she has noticed.
"Then why was she acting strange? Why did she say she made no order when she did?" Aubrey asks, like there's fire in her mouth.
There is so much she is confused about and it is starting to seem like she has lost her mind completely.
