"Your friends are interesting," Helen commented when she and Eli found a good spot away from the majority of the crowd. Some of the stares had stopped while others failed at hiding the fact they were still watching and talking about her.
"They're not my friends. I'll introduce you to my friends if they show up tonight."
"You didn't call or text to see if they would be attending?" Questioned Helen. She texted Jennifer to make sure she was still coming to the party.
"If I see them then great. Why do I need to call?" Eli asked, responding with a question. He didn't need to be checking up on his friend's attendance. Most likely, they probably wouldn't expect to see him here anyway.
Helen stared confused at Eli trying to understand his thought process and all she could conclude was him being weird. "I wouldn't be your friend Eli. You're so closed off," She honestly spoke.
"But you would date me as you are now."
