"Helen!" Eli called once more seeing her body disappear into the body of the lake. He prepared himself to jump in but was held back by Noah. Did his friend not see Helen jump into the water? Noah knew there would be no stopping him from jumping inside.
"I can't let you do that Eli," Noah planted his feet on the ground in an attempt to position himself in a good place to hold Eli back. Eli was much stronger than he was but Noah held on with all his might to keep Eli from jumping in. He swore on his life to project Eli and in a situation like this, Helen would have to die. "I'll die along with you if you jump in to save her. She knows there are sirens down there."
"Crap," Eli cursed, noting that many of the sirens had disappeared from the surface. Still, he pushed Noah off of him and jumped into the water behind Helen.
