"Why are you glancing at your brother so much? Did you miss him?" Carol asked her daughter after noticing how much Jennifer was watching Jack. Her two children argued the older they got and it would be a treat for her if the both of them would get along better. Their family was more of a business structure with everyone needing to work together.
"No. I just came to say hello and now I am leaving," Jennifer said, swinging the backpack over one shoulder. She figured when Jack was ready he would come to talk to her but right now, she had a date to get to.
"Where are you going or more importantly, who are you going with?" Her mother asked.
"I'm going somewhere with Julie and I won't be returning tonight. Goodbye," Jennifer replied, wanting to dash away from her mother before she could ask any more questions.
"We still need to talk about your attitude and your future Jennifer. You need to play your role in helping our business."
