Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Harlow city

9:34 pm

A young girl walked the dangerous back streets of the city alone for the first time in her teen years, sure of what she was going to do with her life. She left the torture from her home and ran away to the streets which were considered dangerous but she would rather be there than at home.

At eighteen years old this was not her first time running away from home but this time she had a friend and a solution. She met someone who was willing to help her get away from her family and find a new life. They offered her a job at their business and all she had to do now was wait for them to come to collect her.

He promised her a home today. A place to call her own where she could feel safe and wouldn't need to run away. Gwen was happy to finally be around someone who would make her happy. She cheesed at the thought of finally moving in with this guy.

Gwen Talyor took out her cell phone once more to call him and see if he was close by but she received no answer. "He's late."

She was sad but she was sure he wouldn't leave her here all alone. Gwen trusted him more than anyone even though she only knew him for a month. A month was all it took for her to trust him more than her relatives who had been there all her life. He was coming and she knew it. All she had to do was wait here where he told her to be.

Gwen sat on the sidewalk outside a closed cafe, playing a game on her phone while she waited for him to arrive. She pulled her backpack closer to her body as people walked by staring at her. She had run away and been on the streets many times so she was used to the stares. It was easy for the people passing by to judge her without knowing what she had survived.

Gwen continued to wait in silence as the streets got darker and emptier. The cold bit at her skin through her old coat. "Maybe he forgot?" She said, her lips trembling from the cold air. Gwen tried her best to warm up her shaking body. "Should I go home for one night?" After a beating for running away, it wouldn't be too hard to escape home again.

Maybe he didn't want her anymore and saw that she was a nuisance and worthless just like her mother always said. He was too perfect for someone like her. Clearly, he realized he could have someone better since he was-

The sound of a car honking broke her train of thoughts. Completely forgetting the cold she smiled seeing that it was his car. He didn't forget her!

Filled with happiness Gwen got off the ground, putting her backpack over her shoulders. She ran to the car excited to see him again. Gwen hurriedly opened the door of the black mini cooper."I thought you weren't coming."

"Have a little faith in me. I got caught up with a small issue," his smooth velvet voice spoke. He was like an angel to her. One who had fallen from the sky just to save her. "I would've got to you sooner if not for that issue. You know you're important to me. I wouldn't make you stay on the streets so long. I love you too much to do that."

"I love you too," Gwen responded, instantly forgiving him. She was too wrapped around his fingers. She shouldn't have doubted he wouldn't show up because he loved her. He loved her more than anyone ever did. "Are we going to my new place babe?"

"Yes, and you'll love it. It's to die for," he stated before driving off. Unbeknownst to Gwen, he gripped the steering wheel in anger not liking the word she called him. He was not her 'babe'.

Gwen sat happily in her seat watching the buildings go by. She was ready to leave her past behind her and start anew. She was glad she met him and was rescued from her dark life. One day she'll rub it in her parent's face of how she elevated from the lifestyle they brought her up in. She smiled continuing to watch the scenery change until her eyes dozed off from the long night of waiting she had.

When Gwen started to wake up again she felt her hands tied up and she was lying flat on the cold floor. Panicking she quickly wore off her sleepiness and tried to grasp the situation. What happened to her? The last thing she remembered was being in her boyfriend's car.

"Help!" She screamed as this was a huge mistake. What happened to her boyfriend? Did they hurt him? "Please free me! You don't get anything from taking me! I don't have anything!"

"Shut up!" She heard his voice in the room she was trapped in.

Gwen pushed her body up to see where he was. Unlike her, he was standing in the corner leaning against a wall perfectly fine. "Babe, did they hurt you?"

"Babe?" He angrily responded with a hint of annoyance in his voice. He was tired of playing the role of a lover to this young girl. "This game is over so please stop calling me babe. I've always hated it coming from your mouth."

"Babe, please stop playing. This isn't funny."

"Annoying and desperate to the end. Oh how much I tortured myself listening to your sob stories. If they didn't need you I would've just torn your mouth off to shut you up. Would've made my day to do it," he carried on finally stating his true feelings.

Gwen was confused hearing the man who said he loved her talking to her this way. She wanted to believe this was one big joke but she was not in the mood for it. Gwen didn't want to believe the words which were coming out of his mouth. Why was he confusing her right now? She scanned his face to see if he was joking but it seemed he wasn't. "You kidnap me!"

"The way I saw it, you got in my car willingly. You're all so foolish, trusting people so easily. I keep breaking my record each time. It only took me a month to get you here. Maybe the next person will be a week," he laughed creepily, sending chills throughout her body. "At least I kept my promise. Welcome to your new home. We'll put your blood to good use," he stated and started to show his true self.

"W-What are you?" Gwen trembled in fear seeing the man she once loved change into a monster. His black eyes turned to red, his teeth grew larger and sharper. Who had she been dating?

"The solution."
