They went to a restaurant to have dinner. They all became close without them knowing. They were laughing and enjoying themselves.
"I wonder what Jessica is doing now". Sabrina said as she took a piece of chicken from Josh's plate.
"Hey, that's my chicken!" He tried to collect the piece of chicken from Sabrina.
"Is just chicken Josh." She laughed as she raised her hand up to stop him from reaching it.. But, Josh was obviously taller than her.
He sighed before he raised his hand. He pulled her hand down. Holding it, he took the chicken from her hand.
Sabrina felt an electric sensation all over her body. His hand touched hers, it felt ticklish.
He held the chicken and dangled it across her face. "Even if you stand, I will still reach you." He chuckled before he put it in her mouth.
Sabrina was already red. But she tried not to show it. She rolled her eyes. " Pfft. Showoff".
Daniel who was sitting across them could not help, but stare. They looked like a couple. He imagined them together. 'They look so good together awwn.' He coughed lightly, which gained Josh and Sabrina's attention. He decided not to say anything that will make Josh angry. "Yeah, you are right Sabrina. Have you heard from her?"
"Nope its been a week now." She said.
"Maybe she is still trying to clear her mind. We are yet to bury Mrs Williams." Josh felt a pang in his heart. Remembering Mrs Williams was painful for him. Daniel and Sabrina also felt the same way.
"Yeah. I hope we see her again. It's really weird not having a female friend with me."
"You have never had any friends?" Daniel asked.
"I had in college. But we don't really hang out anymore." She looked sad. She felt lonely most of the times. After college, she had lost contacts with her friends, because she had to relocate from the city of the school back home. Having challenges and her father's sickness made her not have time for anyone, even herself. But she was happy that she found Daniel and Josh. They made her life interesting.
"Don't be sad." Josh tried to coax her into stop thinking.
"Yes Sabrina. Think about your job interview. When is it?" Daniel asked.
Her face immediately lit up. "The day after tomorrow."
"You have to prepare to get that job." Josh said as he picked up the ketchup.
Sabrina snapped her fingers. "Yes. I do have to prepare. I need to get my hair done, dry clean my best outfit..."
Josh laughed. "Calm down. You are not going for a party. Besides, your hair looks good to me. Just get your best outfit and iron it. Its just an interview. Don't look to great. Just go there simple. What you should prepare for, is how to answer the questions well to impress the interviewers."
She sighed and pouted her lips. "You are right. I'm just so nervous. Arrgh! I have never done anything interview before." She frowned and pouted her lips at the same time. She looked so cute.
"You can do this face in front of them. You look really cute." Daniel chuckled. "Let's go drink. Shall we?" Daniel stood up from the chair, pointing his head to the door signalling them to leave.
Sabrina and Josh looked at each other before they looked back at Daniel. "You and who?" Josh asked him giving him a glare.
"You don't want to drink?" Daniel asked Josh puzzled.
"No. Is only drinking you know. Excuse me." He gently pushed Daniel from the way and left the restaurant.
Sabrina quietly got up from her chair. "Not tonight Daniel. You both are so heavy." She also left the restaurant.
Daniel still stared at the exit of the restaurant. "What is bad to drink now?" He left the restaurant.
He came outside sulking. He looked at Josh and Sabrina. Josh was resting on the car with his arms folded, while Sabrina was standing. When she saw Daniel, she placed her head down.
Daniel walked up to them and glared at Josh. Josh didn't even mind him. "I'm going to a girl's house. I'm not coming home tonight."
Josh released the car from his weight. "Sure. Sabrina and I will just take the bus." He walked away smiling. He turned back to see Sabrina still standing. "Lets go Sabrina. He going to one of his girl's house. He will drink there."
'One of his girl's? Wow. They are both word and opposite.' She thought. "Bye Daniel." She walked away to Josh.
Daniel looked at Josh's back that was going. "Urgh! He is so annoying." He got into the car and drove off.
Josh and Sabrina were walking together quietly. Sabrina heart was beating fast. His scent wafted through her nostrils. She loved his scent, and began to memorize it to know when he is always around.
Josh looked at her side view. Her lashes were really long. And her face was red. "Are you cold?"
"Huh?" His voice made her stop thinking. She looked up at him.
"Your face is red." He pointed to her face.
'What! What the fuck! Focus Sabrina!' She tapped her cheeks, and felt that they were hot. "I -i-it happens. Don't worry." She turned her face away and widened her eyes. "What is wrong with you?" She muttered.
"Did you say something?" He heard her say something.
"Huh? No nothing. Its nothing." She laughed nervously.
They reached the bus stop. Luckily, the bus stopped right in front of them.
"Oh the bus is here." She was very happy because, she couldn't control her feelings. They both got on the bus. Josh sat at the window side with Sabrina sitting next to him. Immediately passengers got in, the driver closed the door and the bus started moving.
Josh looked outside the window. He was thinking about his dad. He missed him a lot. He thought of Mister Smith. He was truly his father's best friend, or more like a brother, like him and Daniel. He also left unfortunately. Mrs Williams death hurt him also. Strangely, he felt the mother's love he never had, from Mrs Williams. It wasn't even up to a week he knew her, before she died. He sighed, trying to forget everything for a moment.
He felt a light weight on his shoulder. He turned to see that it was Sabrina who had slept off, resting her head on his shoulder. He chuckled before looking at the window again, watching houses pass by.
The bus stopped. Josh looked at Sabrina who was still sleeping. He tapped her lightly which made her wake up. "We are here Sabrina."
She looked around the bus and stretched her body. "Okay, lets go." They got down from the bus and watched it drive off. They left the bus stop into the streets.
Everywhere was quiet as they were walking. The sound of a Dog barking, could be heard from afar. Sabrina was walking until she didn't see Josh beside her. She turned to see Josh standing behind her not really far. She was baffled to see him staring at like he was angry. She walked up to him still confused.
"Are you okay Jo...ah!" She shrieked as Josh pushed her to the wall. Her eyes were wide opened. Josh grip on her shoulders were tight. He stared at her, as his eyes were glimmering under the street lights.
She was perplexed. Why was he doing this? "Josh what is wro...mmm." Her words were cut short again by Josh, as he slammed his lips on hers. Sabrina was stupefied. She tried to break out from the kiss, but he pressed his body against hers. She still tried to struggle. Josh groaned and placed her hands above her head. He pried her lips open and inserted his tongue into her mouth.
Sabrina felt her legs weaken from the sudden entry. His lips tasted like heaven. She couldn't help but kiss him back. He released her hands as she automatically wrapped her arms around his neck. He held her tiny waist tight and continued kissing her. This time he wasn't drunk. He was okay. Did that mean he liked her? 'Does he like me!?
"Sabrina...Sabrina." Josh tapped her as she gasped and came out of her reverie. He looked worried. "Are you okay?"
She cleaned the sweat from her forehead. "I'm fine." She smiled reassuring him.
He nodded. "We are at your house."
"When? How?" She looked around. And truly she was at home. 'What kind of day or night dream is this?'
"Are you sure you are okay?" Josh was getting more worried and confused.
"Yes. I promise."
"Okay. Goodnight. See you tomorrow."
"Goodnight." They bid themselves before Josh continued his journey, while Sabrina went into her house, still wondering how she got home.
