(pujan pov)
I don't know for how long I have been here, all alone.
I had some friends who already had their destined beastmen. They always talked about their beasts. They always talked about how they would try to be helpful and how the beastmen would talk to them about random topics. I really liked that idea. I wished I had someone like that too
I don't know when, but all my friends slowly left me behind as they told me that I was different. I was not. Other than not having a beast, I was no different than others.
I later came to know that it was because I had no beast to help. I thought that I was not meant to have a beast because I was useless.
I was later thrown out of the land of spirits into the beastworld. I am a plant spirit here. They say that I look poisonous. I don't like it, I can't even die and nobody even tries eating me. .
One day, I suddenly had someone come to my sight. She said she wants me to work with her. Of course I said "yes". She asked me to tell her where I was so that she could come get me. I finally have my own beast. Would she like me? Will she be scared if I show her my powers like other beasts do? .Will she like how I look? Maybe I do look poisonous so...
But I worry if she really meant it. Is it just my illusion? Maybe it's just my illusion.
No, no, it is not my illusion. She is really here.
I saw a large snake. She was really beautiful. She had smooth scales and was moving towards me, fast like a wave. She then stopped in front of me. Did she get scared? Will she not want me anymore?Do I really look poisonous?
She quickly dug the ground with her tail. I curled up my roots a little. She didn't even touch a little bit of my body. The ground shook and now I was there wrapped up around her tail.
Does she really want me?
She carefully took me to a large cave and placed me in a mud basket.
She turned into her two legged form (became a human) and started talking to me.
"Well, we shall be together now, "happy cooperation". The guide said that you will need a name… Let's call you "Pujan". It means God's gift. Do you like it?"
I was told I was a god's gift. I was shocked and really overwhelmed. I slowly wrapped my vines around her hands and tugged it a little.
" Oh you're happy!! We shall stay together forever now Pujan "
I cannot tell how happy I am that she gave me a name. I never had one before and besides it had great meaning.
" My name is Simu. How about I get you some water?"
I wrapped my vines a little more. Her name was simu. It sounds beautiful.
She seemed to be with a snakelet (baby snake).
My vines touched her belly and she laughed hard.
Did I do something unusual? Why is she laughing?
"Oh then you know that there are babies, can you feel them? There are three of them here."
She flashes her pretty smile as she touches her belly.
She understands me and feeds me while also teaching me sometimes. She told me that she was lonely before my arrival. So was I.
Sometimes the baby in her belly cries but she doesn't seem to know about it. She talks with them all the time.
She tells me she would give me water in exchange for me telling her about the animals nearby that area. She calls it equal exchange. Although I told her I can do it without an equal exchange, she insists.
I don't really like it when the sun goes down. That's when she has water running through her eyes which she calls crying.
Simu is a really lovely beast. She tells me stories about her previous life. She mentions that the babies will be very hard to take care of, because they had a hard time in their past life.
I tell her that if they give her a hard time, I will take care of them.
She laughs really hard and tells me that she was planning to do the same. She's funny.
She takes me out of the cave at night. We sit for long hours under the moons. I love the lunar energy. She tells me that this world is quite different from hers. She claims that the stars are the most beautiful thing she sees here. I too like the stars here. They are bright and beautiful.
I asked her if death was hard. She told me that she was confused because it would be different for me.
She calls me her best friend. She explained that it means a very special person whom she loves with her own life.
I asked her if she had any spirits. I didn't want to be thrown away again.
But she tells me that I am her only spirit.
I am truly happy now. I really was different from other spirits. Others don't have Simu. Others cannot hear Simu. Others cannot play with Simu.
I am unique and different. I happily agree.
