I went up to the door and opened it to see a complete stranger . "I'm sorry but who are you ?"
The guy took a gun out of his pocket and aimed it at me . He pulled the trigger and a gunshot was heard . I was lucky that I had over seen it and moved out of the way just in time . "volare" I spelled and his gun flew from his hand to mine .
"Are you a witch ?" He asked me while at the same time , continued trying to attack me with his fists . I blocked him , looking calm but feeling a weird stretching pain from my stab wound scar . Maybe the scar was making me have a limit for my magic. It almost felt like how I felt when I had just discovered about being a Berthim , except now , I knew more complex spells and it wasn't helpful to me at all . Of course , I wasn't actually back to my first magic stamina , I had much more strength than that but the pain was increasing each second , even when I wasn't using magic to fight against that stranger that had come to my room for no reason but to kill me . He wanted to kill me for sure .
He tried hitting my head , I blocked it by keeping my right hand above . Whatever I did , I didn't feel like I had enough strength to attack him so I could only block him . After a while , the man lost his strength too . He pushed me and ran away . Thankfully , I had managed to spell a tracking spell on him . Taking a few minutes of rest , I felt fine and started following him . I couldn't sleep because if I did , I would loose contact with him .
Yes , I knew complex spells but someone like me , I could only do things a way . I wasn't a complete witch right ?!
I wore a white jacket over my black off shoulder top . I ran outside in order not to loose range with the man . I closed my eyes and saw him in a place that I obviously didn't know about . I only noticed a small shop nearby him and searched it up . It was about ten minutes away from me . I checked the maps and navigated to the place . Slowly , I caught up with that man . He was sitting along with some other people dressed carelessly . They were dressed up as street thugs , I tried listening into their conversation . "This man had called me about 2 hours before or so . I don't know how he got my number but he gave me an address and told me to kill the person in that room . I didn't expect it to be a girl ! I also think that she is a witch or something because she managed to throw my gun away from my hand as if something had pulled it out !" I heard loud laughter from the other people . Of course , the others wouldn't be able to believe him . They hadn't experienced what he had experienced .
I understood that the man who tried to kill me wasn't the one important here , but the person who told him to do it . It also looked like he himself didn't know who it was , he was only after the money he would receive for doing the work for him . It was an absolute dead end . So , I turned back and was leaving . Unfortunately , I didn't realise that all of the people who were talking with the man , along with he himself , were coming my way . He was busy telling what happened while I was in my own world , dragging my feet and walking back home .
I stopped walking when I realised that the the sounds of the men had stopped abruptly . They had noticed me but I didn't think that something like that would happen . I casually looked back to make sure that they were not coming back when I encountered a jump scare watching all of them staring at me like I was some ghost or something .
"Hi..."
I tried acting as if nothing happened , not wanting to come around another fight including fists . The man who had come to attack me though , came running to me , as if he wanted to attack me , but was surprised when he fell to my feet and cried. "None of them believes that you're a witch . lease don't hurt me , but can you please show something that can make them believe that you're a witch ?"
I laughed slightly . "Sure , why not ?!"
He cast a huge grin on his face and turned towards the others as they looked at the both of us in confusion . "Is she the person you told was a witch ?"
"Yes , and now , you're really going to believe me when she proves it to you !"
He looked so confident that I almost felt sorry for what I was about to do . I didn't want anybody else finding out about the existence of supernatural creatures so I needed to make everybody simply forget the memories everybody around had of me . "oblivisceris mei in aeternum , tu aizmirsīsi par mani uz visiem laikiem"
All of them closed their eyes and opened it after a second . "Umm.. how long were we standing here ?" They had not noticed me so I decided to walk away as quietly as I could . There was curve about five footsteps ahead of me so I had to reach there first . Then I could run from there since they wouldn't be able to get me if I reached there without being noticed . I moved one step , two step , three step , four , four and a half ..... "Hey ! Were you there with us when we were zoned out too ??"
Shit . I couldn't use magic either now . "Ummm..... No. I only came here . I know that you guys do special works here and there , that's it . I'm just a tourist who wandered here . I'm sorry , I will leave now . "
I was almost out when I heard them whisper , "She said that she was a tourist . She might be having real good money with her . Let's go."
"Hey!" They called me again . I knew why . I could hear them even when they were whispering so I had no intention of stopping . I needed to get somewhere safe and secure to be able to teleport back to my hotel room easily . I fled as fast I could , trying to find a good spot where they wouldn't think that I would go to . I saw a small space . I was a tight fit in there .
"Ego postulo ut revertar in patriam , ut domus mea , ubi ego reliqui amor vitae" I spelled . Woefully , it was at that exact time that the men decided to look into the small space beside them , and they saw me vanish into thin air . Gosh , I have to find them again . How many of them were there ? They were 7 of them already but god knows to whom all they will share the story to . Hopefully , they don't have any close relationships than they themselves .
I looked around and was surprised to see that I was indeed in a hotel room , but only in a hotel room which was similar to mine . I felt that I was in the same hotel that I was staying in . I looked around and made sure that the person staying in the room I was in right then wasn't there on the bed , or the washroom, just so that if they do end up being in any one of them , I would be able to be extra cautious . I also didn't want the camera security to freak out seeing a person who hadn't entered a room come out so I decided to cast an invisibility spell on my self ,
I was about to cast my spell when the door opened . I was too shocked to cast the spell on myself but was also relieved the next second because it was Ben . "So this is your room ?" I asked as I sat down in his bed . "Yeah . Did you teleport yourself from your room ?"
He knew that I had teleported . "Yeah , just not from my room . Where were you until now ? "
I asked to change the topic . "I was coming to your room but you weren't answering . I thought that you had headed outside , or were resting so I had decided not to disturb you and was coming back . But , back to the topic , where were YOU ?"
I chuckled nervously and told him what happened . "I thought that it was toy gun some child had left behind ! " He said to me with a shocked expression on his face.
"Hehehehe... Sorry that I didn't inform you beforehand . It was just that I didn't want to loose any time tracking that man . "
He said that he understood me but still ended up giving me a long lecture about responsibility and letting others know If I was in danger whenever I got the chance to .
"It's just that , I feel like I'm putting all of you in danger if I let you know that I'm in danger . I'm afraid of what you might do if I can't help myself . Also , I'm a Berthim. You don't have to worry about me . Worry about yourself for god's sake ! When did your skin get so dry ! Let me give you a face mask . It moisturises your skin . "
I tried changing the topic again , and failed again . "My skin is normal for me and I'm not having any kind of difficulties with it right now so you don't have to worry . You worry about yourself . " We started to have a couple fight now , telling each other to take care of each other .
I gave up and told him that I'd take care of myself because I was very hungry . "Come on then ! Let's get something good from one of the restaurants that I'd wanted to invite you ! "
I gave him a quick peck on his lips before pushing him outside to get ready . "I need more ! " He shouted from the other side of the door to persuade me but I only laughed and left him there , loving him more ....
