I woke up in the Nowhere again . I came here often when I was tired . Here was the only place where I didn't have a stitch around my stomach . I felt no pain . I came here often mostly to run away from pain . When my periods hit me , the lack of exercise had made me have terrible stomach cramps too . Thankfully , Cora and the others was okay with using magic to lighten the pain .
A full three months later , I was fully healed . The doctor that we had visited was worried for me because of the difference in the way my heart beat , so he pushed himself to come and see me for himself before telling that I was fully healed .
Because I was not well , the others were only keeping a watch on Nate and Jay . "Jay is moving around the US but Cora had cast a locating spell and we're still tracking him . We decided to travel and catch him once you were well ." Ben said to me .
I smiled at them and said , "Thank you for doing that ! I would've felt a lot more left out than I already felt just because you had to keep an eye on them . What about Nate ? What's he doing ? Had he come from Paris yet ?"
I wasn't informed about Jay's whereabouts because my blood would boil at the thought of him . But since I had gotten used to talking about Nate so much , and he hadn't taken control of someone's life the way Jay did , I could take talking about him . This was why I only had updates about Nate and not Jay .
"Yes , he's not back HERE yet , but he's left Paris for now . God knows what they're doing travelling this much when what they need is right here . " It was Leah who was talking . After I got stabbed , Leah's ego had gone down much more and she listened and tried to understand us more than before .
I decided to not to delay things anymore and sat down on the sofa . A map was spread across the tea table and many red and blue dots were put on places where Nate and Jay had travelled . I observed . The red dots represented places where Jay had travelled , and the blue dots was for Nate .
Looking at it , I got a gut feeling that all the places were connected somehow . I knew that they would go to any extent to get Leah , even though it is still unsure why he needs it . I decided to try many of the signs that represented dark magic . I took a pencil and started drawing common dark magic symbols . I stopped in shock when one of them fit correctly into every red and blue dots . It was the Hexagram , which was used to perform rituals for dark magic . Did they do something in these places to do something related to dark magic ? Were Nate and Jay working together ? The others were looking at me in wonder because none of them had thought about doing that . It was indeed that day itself that they had completed dotting the places but they didn't think about connecting them . What did this mean?
I had no idea but I DID decide to research more about how Hexagrams worked . After a lot of research , I found out that in order to summon the demon , one had to get 50 stems of the yarrow plant , which was a laborious task . They would need to keep 10 stems each in 5 corners , leaving one corner . The person doing the ritual must go to the corner where there are no stems and start reciting a ritual . If Nate and Jay are indeed working together , they might have something on their mind . What did they want to do ? Ask for the demon to imprison Leah ? Whatever it was , the result wasn't going to be any good for sure .
I explained what I had found to the others . "We need to stop them ASAP !" Leah looked petrified . "What happened to you Leah ?"
She looked at me for a second , dragged me out from everyone and started talking. "Your research was almost right . Everything you said was right itself but there's a small detail with it too . Actually , it maybe a little big addition but-"
I cut her off . She was really nervous ." It doesn't matter if it is big or small . Now tell me what I missed ."
She took a deep breath and said , "To summon the demon , they need to sacrifice a Siren . I think they want something else , not me . They want me because I'm a path to what they want . "
I didn't react for sometime . I stood right where I was a second ago when I didn't know about this . I had grown close with Leah within this time and I couldn't bear to loose someone . I know how one feels when they loose their loved ones , the time when dad died . It was a relief that he had come alive or I wouldn't be able to think properly .
"It's fine Leah . We'll make sure that nothing happens to you . I want to ask , what happens if someone other than a Siren get sacrificed ?"
"The ones performing the ritual will be killed for disgracing the order of what he wanted . They'll be taken to hell and would be there for the rest of their lives . But for someone who had planned this much , I think they will also be careful of who who get's sacrificed . Besides , they can see and who I am . Both of them have bad intentions , I could melt them but then I would be killed for ruining the order since I would be inside the Hexagram too . "
I patted her back comfortingly . "It's okay . We'll find a way to solve everything . No matter how much we carry on our shoulders right now , it's going to fly away soon , and we'll be free again . I promise ."
Leah told me not to tell the others about the detail that I'd missed to tell them . I wanted to tell them but Leah didn't want to feel sympathised by everyone so respecting her decision , I decided to keep quiet .
We were going to to San Francisco because Jay and Nate were now on their way there . We found that out by finding which plane they were leaving . Everything wasn't as easy as it seemed . The public couldn't find Fredrick's body so since we were the final ones to actually see Fredrick , majority of them believed that we had killed him . Even the news were absurd enough to report that we were only let loose because they had no evidences against us . Giving out such false news , the channels went running behind the new hot topics . They gave out a false conclusion , to which even the police stood with them to stop looking for evidences .
We went out wearing travelling outfits , comfy , and simple , dragging behind a carrier bag each . Many people gave us the 'looks' but we ignored them . Beth and Cora had to deal with a lot of those stares when they had to buy me medicines and groceries for all of them . We had booked a ticket online and none of them had seen our faces so all the air hostesses , who usually gave out radiant smiles , and radiant FAKE smiles when they were in a bad mood , didn't even move the slightest muscle around their lips when they saw us . The whole mood around us was uncomfortable . We even had to hear some people whispering behind us as if we had no ears , " They're surely trying to run away from being caught . Shouldn't the police stop them ?"
All the stares and whispers around us that I had seen and heard that day made me angry . I felt like I could no longer control my strength . The police knew that we hadn't done anything but they had to pin the case on someone in order to look good at their jobs . I didn't feel any respect to the police anymore . I had little hope that they would do their jobs properly at least if what they're doing was highly asked for but no , they decided to pin it on someone .
"I know that you people are staring at us but it doesn't make any difference because we didn't do anything to that man . Do you think that we would go straight to his house . parking our OWN car outside his house , knowing that there would be people trying to stalk this guy ? You people must be stupid to think that we would've killed him ? Let your brain rest in peace . "
I caught Leah's hand and dragged her along with me to the air plane , and the other followed me shortly . People had already posted recordings of me talking . Some of them finally grew some sense in them while others called me a bitch for acting innocent . I don't think anybody can change the opinions of all the public into one . Everybody will surely have different ways of looking at things .
We got into the air plane and asked for some water from the air hostess . The air hostess was taking way too much time to bring it and I knew that she was either in no hurry , forgot about it since she has to deal with a lot of passengers , or is currently acting like I had never asked her for some water . I wouldn't let this type of behaviour pass by . Casting a small spell , I teleported my own blanket from home to my backpack and threw it over myself . Casting a spell again , leaving the blanket as if I was inside it , I teleported to the air hostess aisle .
"I won't help quench the thirst of a murderer ?! Who does she think she is ! I bet she thinks that she is famous now ..." The air hostess who was listening to her happily a second ago had turned her expression into horror when she saw that I was right behind the air hostess who was talking . "So , where's my water ? or do I have to help myself here ? You won't have a job tomorrow if I do that tho ."
I said calmly . The arrogant , angry , atrocious behaviour of the woman changed in a millisecond . "No ma'am , please don't ! I'll do anything ! You can go back to your seat ! I'll bring the wate-"
Cutting people off was now a habit for me . "You just called me murderer right ? Why don't you help me become one by being my first victim?"
