When Mai had swung that door open, expecting to see her grandmother, the last person she had expected had appeared at the door. There was a chance it could have been her close childhood friend Simon who lived next door, but of all things, and of all people, it was Chris.
She was so flustered that her first initial instinct was to slam the door shut, and she just might have done it if it wasn't for the fact that her Uncle was now standing behind her and had his hand held on the door.
"Whoa, I never knew grandma turned into a hot dude. What type of magical powers do you have?" Nicholas said.
'If only you knew you jerk!' She wanted to shout out but didn't for two reasons. No one knew her situation, and the second, she didn't want to make a bad impression of herself in front of Chris.
"Oh, I am sorry to disturb you. I was wondering if I could take your daughter out for a nice evening trip." Chris said in a polite manner and was bowing.
