Due to Mai's situation, it didn't seem like it would be beneficial for her to stay in the future for longer than she had to. There wasn't any information she could find out about Chris other than what Even had told her.
She had asked about Chris as a person, but it seemed like Even and Mai had drifted apart after leaving school. Another person she had suddenly stopped talking to.
It looked like they would hold her here for as long as they could before letting her free.
It seemed like the future had stricter rules on suspected criminals than in her time. Suspects could roam free after a while just after calling an attorney to get them out. Still, it seemed like they had made such rules to crack down on troublesome things happening in the current world.
It also made her realise that people weren't the only thing that would have changed in ten years, but perhaps the world as well.
