They walked around the capital for a long time. While walking, they stumbled upon a small pawn shop. Elenor briefly glanced at it before looking away, finding nothing interesting. She wanted to walk past it but noticed Alec slowing down, looking at one single thing that took his interest.
She followed his gaze and it fell on a brooch. It was a red flower brooch with rhinestones in the middle of it, acting as the middle part of the flower. Tiny crystals were embedded into the petals of it. The brooch was lined in a gold colour creating a fancy, expensive effect on it.
Elenor pointed at it, "Do you want it?" she questioned.
Alec's eyes broke away from the brooch and onto her. He shook his head and continued walking ahead.
"No, it looked interesting for a while," he replied.
She nodded, walking away from the small pawn shop. They stopped at the centre of the capital which had a large statue and benches around. A perfect spot to stop and rest in which they did. Alec sat down on the bench, letting his feet take a quick rest.
He noticed Elenor was standing. He looked up at her who had a frown on her face. Raising an eyebrow he decided to ask what was on her mind.
"I forgot something I wanted to get."
"What is it? I'll go get it for you."
"No it's alright, I'll be quick." she immediately refused and hurried off without letting Alec talk back to her.
Once she was out of his sight, she heaved a sigh and grinned. Picking up speed, she made it back to the small pawn shop they had passed not long ago and purchased the brooch that Alec had an eye on.
With a happy smile, she thanked the seller and stared at it.
'I wonder if he will smile at this..' she wondered, her fingertips gazing against the crystals on the brooch.
"You have a wonderful eye for pretty things, Lady Elenor." a smooth voice behind her spoke, startling her terribly.
She held the brooch tightly in her hands and turned behind to the person who had spoken to her out of sudden. The figure was quite tall so her neck was strained as she gazed up to the face.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to scare you, I was merely surprised to see you in Vaidia."
She blinked a couple of times before opening her mouth, "You are from the piano recital right?"
The sun kissed man laughed cheerily and nodded, "I'm happy that you still remember me though we only met once."
Elenor gave him a small smile, "I should say the same for you. I still don't know your name as well."
He paused before a small gasp came out of his mouth, "Ah! I've forgotten about that. Terribly sorry for my rudeness, you can call me Judas."
Elenor gave a nod at the name, "Well then Judas, it is nice to be able to meet you once again."
Judas gave her a blinding smile, "Yes, I do hope we can meet up another time for perhaps lunch or tea?"
"That would be nice."
Judas chuckled, pleased with her agreement, "I can also show you around Vaidia. This is your first time here am I correct?"
"It is actually."
"Perfect, do let me know when you are free. I should be going now, I wouldn't want to waste so much of your time."
"Don't worry, you didn't, sir Judas. Be careful on your way." Elenor smiled and waved goodbye to him as he disappeared into the crowd of people.
She then made her way back to where Alec was. He was sitting fidgetly but once he saw her figure walking back, his tense face relaxed ever so slightly. He quickly made his way over to her side.
"Did you get what you had forgotten?" he asked, checking her to make sure she didn't get injured.
Watching his reaction, she laughed and nodded. She extended her hand towards him.
Alec glanced at her hand briefly before placing his in hers. This caused Elenor to burst into laughter again before shaking her head.
"I meant for you to stick your palm out."
"Oh." he didn't remove his hand and instead stuck his other hand out.
Elenor shook her head at his actions but nonetheless let it be. She placed the brooch into the palm of his hand. Alec's eyes widened in surprise after seeing the brooch he had his eyes on.
"This was what you had forgotten?"
"Mhm, do you like it?" Elenor asked softly, lightly pinching the meat of his hands.
Alec nodded, his eyes never leaving the brooch. "How could I not milady? This colour reminds me of you. That was why I was interested in it."
Elenor coughed and looked away, she didn't have enough manpower to be immune to his actions today.
"Don't call me that right now. We're having a date right now." she frowned.
A small chuckle rang in her ears. "Yes, I will be careful the next time, Elenor."
Elenor huffed, "Let's continue this date, I want to go over there and check out the stuff."
"Yes. Anything for you." he hummed, pulling her close to him as they walked to their next destination Elenor had in mind.
Alec whipped his head to the back while Elenor was rambling about something. His sharp gaze stared into the bustling crowd silently.
"Alec? What's wrong?" Elenor questioned once she noticed him looking at the back while they walked.
He shook his head and shot a smile at her. "Nothing, thought I saw someone familiar."
Before Elenor could say anything more, Alec pointed at the food stall she was talking about just now. Instantly her attention went to that. He smiled at the sight of her. He truly couldn't get enough of her.
"Sir Alec." a man behind him spoke.
His eyes grew cold and emotionless as he replied, "What is it?"
"His highness called for you. You are in need to discuss about the plans."
Alec clicked his tongue, annoyed by Lloyd calling for him. He wanted to spend time with Elenor. It doesn't matter if he was risking his job and position. She has been his first priority and will always be.
"Tell him I'll come at night, now don't disturb me for the whole day." he icily said, never once looking at the man.
The man who was used to him being like this, nodded. "Understood. Have a good day sir." and without anyone noticing, the man disappeared quietly as if he was never there.
"Alec you should try one of these." Elenor said, walking over to him with a spiral looking thing on a long stick.
The cold air around him melted once she came back. He took the stick and stared at it. As if she knew, she began explaining to him that it was something called a tornado potato.
"It's deep fried potato that they shaved to make it become like this!" she ended her explanation before taking a bite into her own.
She hummed delightfully, cherishing the taste of it. Alec took a bite of his and nodded, pleased at how tasty it actually was.
After that, their date soon came to an end when the sun disappeared.
"Rest well milady." Alec said as Elenor was lying on her bed sleepily.
Yawning, she nodded with a sleepy smile, "Good night Alec..."
Alec waited until her eyes fluttered shut before closing the door, heading out of the estate. A man in a knight uniform was waiting outside the gate.
"Sir Alec." the knight saluted once he saw him.
Alec merely nodded before the knight brought him over to where Lloyd was waiting for him at. Hidden away from the eye, a small rundown hut came into view and inside was a man with brown hair under a black hood who sat still with nobody else.
Alec took a seat opposite him and coldly looked at the man. The man chuckled, pulling his hood down with a sad look.
"I've been waiting for you since the afternoon and now you only show up. That's quite a bold move Alec." he spoke, resting his chin on his palm.
Alec rolled his eyes, "I'm sure you knew that I went out with milady today."
He scrunched up his face as he stared at him, "And what's with that wig?"
Lloyd cleared his throat, "A disguise of course!" he proudly said with a smug smile making Alec judge him even more.
The sad look on Lloyd's face was no longer there and a playful look overtook it. "Hmm so how was your little date with Elenor?"
"...Nice.." Alec mumbled a reply, looking down at the wooden table.
The brooch attached on his collar glistened under the moonlight which came inside the rundown hut.
Lloyd shuddered, waving his hand, "Don't make that face in front of me next time. With your stoic face and that look, it doesn't feel right."
Alec glared at him, "Do you want me to change the positions of your face?"
Lloyd yelped, furiously shaking his head, "No thank you!!"
Alec sighed before speaking, "So? What about the plan?"
Lloyd's face immediately turned serious, not joking around any longer, "Is everything ready?"
"Almost. We need a bit more time but it should be done soon."
"As long as it is before the ball then it's alright."
"Is there anything else?" Alec raised an eyebrow as he leaned back against the chair.
Hearing this, Lloyd couldn't help but laugh. "Of course, if it was only this I wouldn't need to hide in such a secluded hut."
Alec hummed and nodded, "What is it then?"
"When are you and Elenor ever going to reveal your relationship to me."
"Hm. I think it is time for me to take my leave, have a good rest your highness."
"Hey! Don't just get up and leave!!" Lloyd's protests were all ignored by Alec as he left the area, heading back to his own room for the night.
"Seriously what does Elenor see in him?" Lloyd grumbled, pouting.
