Chereads / Tux And Spell / Chapter 5 - 5. He Loves You

Chapter 5 - 5. He Loves You

"Allison... Never told me !!" Margy argued softly. Her eyes sparkled and her figure trembled slightly, she was very afraid of being really accused of being a murderer.

"Really!! I really can't follow your way of thinking!! Allison is my toughest rival, Margy!!" Jacob said frustrated and ruffled his hair. For a glance, Margy's attention was drawn to the movements of his muscular hands and arms.

"But ... What's the matter with me?!" She denied fast.

"For heaven's sake!!" Jacob yelled and leaned against the back of the sofa, his palms covering his face - frustrated. Roderick, who was standing looking at the abstract painting in the living room of the apartment, chuckled. This is the first time he saw his best friend - the genius man and "the untouchable-California-Attorney" frustrated in front of a woman, his friend tested positive for the deadly virus - Love.

Margy was silent and frowned in confusion. Didn't understand what Jacob was telling her. Why did the man in front of him look so stressed?

"Margy ... Introduce me. I am Roderick. This annoying male co-worker" said Roderick who approached Margy and offered his hand to shake.

Margy reached out and smiled a little, "I'm really sorry for all this madness ... And this is our first meeting."

"Mmm ... OK ??" Margy replied confused.

"Maybe you haven't realized it, and maybe my friend is too stupid to realize what happened," Roderick continued and sat down beside Margy, his whole body turned to face the young woman.

"Roderick !! Stop it !!" Jacob threatened softly at his friend, but Jacob's body was still leaning against the back of the sofa.

"Shut it, man !! Or are you sorry !!" Roderick replied, then turned his attention to Margy, "I am a good friend of Jacob - a certified genius from Mensa and recognized for his prowess in his legal career - but I know for sure, because of that intelligence he became a fool!!" Roderick explained to Margy, who now opened her mouth again and closed her mouth unconsciously.

"Forgive my friend Margy!" Roderick was serious about the woman in front of him, several times Roderick refrained from smiling, while Jacob had given up what was going to happen. He knew clearly, Roderick would not stop acting up.

"You mean?" Margy asked and occasionally glanced at Jacob.

"Maybe you'll be surprised to hear it," said Roderick chuckled, Jacob looked at him fiercely, "but I can be sure, this genius but the stupid man loves you," he continued and glanced mischievously at Jacob who finally ruffled his hair back.

"I??" Margy asked in disbelief. They did sleep together, but only once? And because of the drink.

"Oh ... Dear Margy !! A Jacob will never want to spend the night with any woman, maybe you are the first for him," said Roderick, laughing loudly and holding his stomach, he laughed heartily seeing the figure of Jacob who closed his eyes in frustration.

He's right - his guess is right - Jacob is truly-madly-deeply in love with Margareth Enja Dennise, the main witness to the death of his client and the main suspect in this case.

"You ... You mean?" Margy still couldn't believe what she heard. Roderick struggled to recover from his laughter and cleared his throat hard.

"Listen ... A Jacob won't care about who you are right now if you don't win his heart! He will let all the investigations go ahead and that means taking you to the police station from the moment you met at the apartment," Roderick explained in a serious tone.

"But what happened? Jacob actually approached you and protected you, even though in the end you ran away and went to Allison! Trust me ... I was just as shocked, and my words are based on his current behavior."

"What's wrong with Allison?" Asked Margy, still confused.

"Allison has always been my rival," Jacob finally said, "she's one of Greg Richardson's ex-girlfriends ... Or should I say an affair?" He continued and looked at Margy with full emphasis.

"But...."

"You're too innocent to know!" Jacob interrupted quickly.

"And ... Jacob likes innocent women," said Roderick quickly and burst out laughing. His ridiculous act was rewarded with a throw pillow from Jacob.

"But ... The fact is that you've been close to Greg Richardson, you're not completely innocent!" Roderick teased and looked at Jacob mischievously.

"She was a virgin-- The only thing Greg did, was just kissing her," Jacob answered flatly in response to a question Roderick had not yet had time to say.

Margy looked down embarrassed, how could they talk about this in front of her.

"Listen !! Allison deliberately locked you in here, to make it look like you are running away from the police investigation," Jacob explained seriously again and straightened himself up, "you are the black sheep!!"

"I still don't understand ... What's Allison's connection to this case," squeaked Margy, glancing at Jacob anxiously.

Jacob sighed in annoyance, while Roderick chuckled. "This is your karma buddy !! Not everyone is as smart as you !!"

"Allison, as I said was Greg's affair before you! I confirmed it myself yesterday if she was the culprit!" Obviously, Jacob leaned back on the sofa.

"You mean?" Margy asked louder, while Roderick just raised his eyebrows curious, how could Jacob possibly conclude that the culprit was Allison.

"The first time I went to the crime scene, I went through all parts of the apartment, I found clothes fibers stuck in your bathroom door. Maybe she got stuck when she wanted to enter, all the air holes in the bathroom had been gagged, I concluded the culprit was using an ammonia gas spray and leaving it locked, hoping that whoever entered it first would die from inhaling the poison gas!" Jacob explained long and wide.

"You took the fiber?" Roderick asked curiously, while Margy was still trying to understand the words of two adult men with a level of intelligence far above her.

"Yes ... Pure cotton. Allison is allergic to everything except cotton," Jacob continued and looked at Roderick, hoping his best friend would think like him. What a relief, he can relax while all the cases will be handled by Roderick.

His hope vanished, as Roderick still folded his forehead in confusion.

"Hmm .. well, the fiber has lipstick marks on it," Jacob explained, "I think when her clothes got caught she bit them to throw them away and get out of there."

Roderick and Margy are still waiting for Jacob's explanation. "The lipstick marks I took to the Lab, and the results were positive." Jacob got up and went into what he thought was the kitchen, looking for the refrigerator and carrying three cokes, and bringing them back to the two people who were still sitting on the sofa with a blank look. Confused.

Jacob gave him two cokes each, and he drank the chocolate while sitting on the sofa where he had been sitting a few minutes ago.

"It's a Mac Limited edition Cinderella, something butterfly - I forgot, which you can only buy via e-bay," Jacob said to both of them, "I asked one of my employees to buy the lipstick, and put it on - so I know what color it is...when used ... and yesterday when I met Allison, the color of the lipstick looked the same as the color of that lipstick."

"You really are ... A genius man !!" Praised Roderick, "then ... how it goes?" Roderick asked, sometimes his friend could solve all the cases himself without his help until he thought his presence in the film was unnecessary.

"I've gathered evidence, the only thing I have to do is secure Margy, and by some miracle out of nowhere, that woman I wanted to protect ... Run to the other side and say I'm a dominant man who will threaten her safety." Jacob continued sarcastically.

Margy looked down in shame and said "sorry" very slowly, while Roderick laughed with satisfaction at what he saw, "you are like lovers!"

"I'm here, I want to take you back to California as a witness, so this case can end Margy!" Jacob explained firmly but softly.

"Al ... Alright," replied Margy stammered.

"Don't tell Allison !! I've asked her to be watched so she doesn't come out of California," Jacob interrupted and approached Margy, Jacob stretched out his hand, "please believe me!"

Margy took Jacob's hand and nodded sheepishly.
