Chapter 6 - Building the terrain

"ARCHER.", Ruffus said looking into the boy lefting his dorm.

"What?", he replied. "If you want to talk feel free but don't interrupt my training.", and he left running.

"Where are my books?"

"You need to change your ways before asking for anything that aren't bought with your effort."

"What you did yesterday?"

"Don't worry. Nobody but lightning awakeneds can escape that."

Ruffus started to fall behind as the run kept. Archer smiled and went foward don't worrying about his double backstabber. He started to read the Draconic Body to start building his sketch of magical circuit but the content was ridiculously extensive.

[Archer: I could badly initiate the foundation.]

[TFA: Neither of us can help you with this.]

[TFQ: While you don't have a magical circuit is best to avoid using magic.]

[Archer: That's going to be challenging.]

[TFQ: Just spend all the time on your dorm.]

[Archer: I'll try.]

After the training session. He went straight to the class. There he saw the misery state of his bully. Ruffus was all smelly and in a worst state. The boy looked evil at his target and was still thinking what happened for him to lose without a fight.

"Welcome, students. I'm miss H and will be your spellcasting teacher.", she smiled at them and looked around. "I see that a few of you are already familiar with your speciality. Lets go to the simple and most basic ones. When everyone learn it well will be passing to the next and so on."

The class was a boredom for those that were hot blooded for fights but for those like Archer this class was superb. Theory and formulas. This was a combination of words and mathematic. The teacher said that casting a spell was closest to coding a program.

The magic control and how to use it was totally on the circuit of each person. The teacher passed the basic on how to use it and after showed some examples doing herself. The spells that she teached were light and magic missile.

[Spell tab was created and spell list was added to it.]

[Light was added to your spell list.]

[Magic Missile was added to your spell list.]

[TFQ: That was too boring.]

[TGK: That's only because you are too good at it. I found interesting.]

[TFA: Archer. You need another two books.]

[Archer: I forgot about it. Aura and Prana. Luck I have time till I complete the magical circuit but these energies have influence on the magical circuit?]

[TFQ: They don't but they use the magical circuit too. So if you don't plan accordingly you can break your magical circuit.]

[Archer: Oh okay.]

"ARCHER.", Ruffus came again.

"What?", the boy said. "Oh you smell. Be a little away, please."

"Let me in again."

"Only if you can tell me how I won yesterday."

"What?"

"Do you need a remember?", the boy said and Ruffus fall again on the floor. "Good luck."

Archer had a easy time going to his room. So the study began. It took him all the day to finish the basic drawing of the Draconic Body foundation. The foundation was were the magic was generated that is close to the heart. The rest of the magical circuit would then start from there.

"Lay the rest should be easy but I still need to add another five books after this making it work all together."

[TFQ: Or you can use as it is.]

[Archer: I can't take the credits back. So I'm not rushing this.]

And so he spend a little more time to finish the book and the sketch as well.

[You completed a mission.]

"That's good but I need to sleep."

Archer went to sleep. On his second day. He had a huge progress as he ended it with a free stat point, gained his first experience point and finished the first sketch to his magical circuit. On this pace he would become stronger fastly.

The sun rised up and so did he to do his training. The system was good to him and this was building an habit on his mind. The third day. By the school's schedule today was the weapon class. He was anxious as all the students would receive a First Grade weapon.

[TFA: You are forgetting to study the basics of magic. Put the circuit on hiatus, Archer.]

[Archer: But did you said that was to not use spells?]

[TFQ: Read the book, boy.]

[Archer: Okay.]

Everything was going smoothly. So why they were talking like that? He started to think on the basics of magic itself. He forgot the simplest of it. It grows as you practice. This was the key he needed to find on the book. Even without casting that must have a way to train it.

The class was directly on a special training ground. A woman with a militar uniform was on their front.

"I'm miss A and your weapon instructor. Behind me are all the weapons available for training. You only have access to them during classes and with permission. They aren't yours. So you can chose one now."

[TFA: Pick a sword.]

[TFQ: Pick a sword.]

[TGK: Pick a sword.]

[TWT: Pick a sword.]

"A common accord that's strange but I don't like it that much.", he said. "Teacher. Which weapon do you recommend for a newbie?"

She was a little taller than him and had a strong presence. On her waist a long and thin rapier. The hair was long and skyblue as her eyes. She looked at his build and then looked at his informations.

"A short or long sword as a spear should do for you.", she replied after reaching a conclusion.

"Thanks.", so he went looking for this three types of weapons.

On the weapons were those that weren't made for close combat and those that were totally man made. Between the ranged combat were weapons such bow and staffs which were magic amplifiers. Man made were laser weapons from all kinds.

"Wow.", he picked a hilt of a laser blade. "This had length controller.", he tried using one hand, both and the non dominant as well. "This is too light to swing."

[TFQ: It's you that are too strong.]

"Lets see the spears now.", this kind of weapons were smithed weapons with monters material and metal. "That's more fitting.", he used both hands and did some movements. "And I can keep my distance."

[TWT: Let the boy for now but I still think a sword is the best choice.]

[Archer: If any of you can tell me why I would chose easily.]

No one responded.

[Archer: Not enough authority again. I understand but I'll stick with the spear for now.]

"I see that you all chose the weapon of your choice for now.", miss A said. "There are screens all along this training ground. On them are trainings focused on every type of weapon. Find the one appropriate and then follow to train in a living puppet."

Living puppets were both tech and magic engineering. Thet had a self conscious made by magic and could create weapons with parts with their body with technology. They had a processor that would make them evolve accordingly to their opponents.

"Take note of the puppet your using. They will be your school partner for the whole four years.", she looked and smiled. "As well changing puppets could make it more easy or hard depending on who you trade with."

"17.", Archer said looking the one nearest to him. "I should name you Lapis then. Show me the spear screen training.", and so the puppet did.

Everyone was a little scared as the puppet was more sentient than the others. So the students tried doing the same as Archer but no other did as commanded. Miss A knew why that happened. It was because between every year that would be a puppet that weren't reseted on purpose to show how violent they could be.

Archer passed a lot of time watching over and over the movements. Others that picked spear watched at most twice. He was there watching and slowly doing the movements with the spear he caught.

"If I do this with patience now. It'll work out as I'm planning.", he said and picked a place to start the sparring.

Miss A started to look at his fight as she knew what was about to happen. The puppet formed a long sword and wield it with both hands. This was the proof that boy would be totally devasted. She knew from which person this puppet was previously.

"Lets start by releasing little by little.", he said and jumped against Lapis.

The puppet was faster. It redirected the attack and made a simple vertical slash against Archer's head. The boy was faster as well dodging the incoming retaliation and reposicioning to do a sequence of piercing attacks.

The 17 was faster but needed to use its sword as its body to avoid damage. The teacher was impressioned by the boy's attitude against the puppet. But he was only starting. The piercing attacks become piercing and slashing which Lapis couldn't avoid totally and started to accumulate damage.

"Teacher. What is happening there? It's too fast to accompany with the eyes."

"Don't worry in four years you'll be able to do that.", she started to see the information about Archer again. "A lightning mutant. That's explain."

[TFQ: You're falling behind.]

[TFA: Don't use Magic as supply. This time will go the other way around.]

[TWT: Start diminishing the power and assimilating with your body.]

[TFA: Concentrate doing only the necessary.]

[TFQ: Forget the concept of time.]

[TGK: There is only you and your weapon.]

The fight started to change slowly. From a fast lightning movements they started to become centred attacks and blocks with a lot of precision. It started as a eletronic music and went down to a classical one. The tempos were totally different.

"What is happening?", a girl said.

"They are fighting mentally.", the teacher said. "They are on the same level but the boy has the advantage."

And suddenly was like the boy had splitted into two making two attacks. The puppet stopped.

"How he achieved that on his first battle?", miss A asked and fastly approached the boy. "Weren't you a newbie?"

"I am.", he replied.
