The boys sat in the living room unknown to Zeki and his prank on them. They had seen him going towards the kitchen and nothing about him made them suspicious since he loved to eat. Food is his top priority.
Immersed in their work, boys couldn't foresee the upcoming prank planned in the naughty brain of Zeki.
"Guys!!!"
No response.
"Hello???"
No response.
"BOYS!!!!!!!"
Again no reply.
"AT LEAST RESPONSE TO ME…."
Bryan kicked the floor with his foot.
Xavier sighed, "Are you blind? Can't you see we are all busy?"
Crossing his hands, "Oh I am sure none of you is so engrossed. You are just pretending like that. But you should also know who I am and these tricks won't work with me."
Bryan let out a victorious smirk as he finished.
He expected Xavier to agree with him and not retort back again but he proved him wrong.
Imitating Bryan's posture, Xavier stood a few steps away from him as he stared at him. His eyes were ridiculed.
"Are you not thinking too proud of yourself? Also, why do we need to pretend with you? And if you might have not noticed but Caleb had his earphones plugged in as he is doing his work and I don't think Rev would ever leave his work even for you", Bryan's smirk slipped off his face as he heard Xavier's taunts.
The proud look gave away and it turned crestfallen.
This time Xavier smirked at the miserable expression of his friend. It satisfied him seeing how Bryan appeared to be betrayed.
Caleb paused the songs on his playlist, "Just quit it. Why do you think that you have a chance against his vicious mouth and poisonous tongue?"
"Trying never hurts? Right? I will try until I succeed."
Bryan grinned.
The second Bryan opened his mouth to say furthermore, they heard the fire alarm ringing loudly in their place. Following it, the drizzling water unhurriedly drenched them.
Bryan and Caleb reacted fast and ran to the kitchen. Xavier was behind them. While Rev clicked his tongue in displeasure.
He didn't like being disturbed during his work.
"It is my fault. I should have continued the remaining part in the study room." He chided.
Still, he walked to them. He had this tiny gut feeling within himself that assured him how everything was a prank only.
He located his friend's frozen figures. He entered the kitchen and saw Zeki fiddling in embarrassment. He shuffled from one leg to the other. He felt uncomfortable under the judging and arbitrary gaze of his friends.
"Hey, my awesome friends. Long time!!"
"How are you?"
".....Umm...Stop looking at me in that way…."
He kept rambling. Others only stared at him. They didn't respond to him.
"What way? And why?"
Bryan asked.
Embarrassed, Zeki rubbed his neck.
'Why do you feel like I am their prey and they, my predators?' He marvelled since he felt his plan to get them backfired as they must have known about it from the beginning and just to humour him; they let him do according to his wishes.
Caleb walked out of there and went to turn off the alarm. Zeki remained alone. Others left him after the rain pouring on them stopped.
Zeki slapped his forehead, "Why must I be the one to suffer?" He cried out. He wanted to wail and whimper. But he was aware that his friends would show zero sympathies to him sobbing like a baby.
He stayed on his spot without moving an inch. He didn't want to get punished for his small prank on them.
"ZEKI!"
He would have been glued there if they didn't call out to him. He shuddered as his brain started to flash him with possible punishments visuals and to be fair they were not something 'normal'.
"Mom, I wish you were here with me, your adorable, innocent and weak son. Then they won't have bullied me." Anyone would have been swayed by him but not the ones who knew him from in and out.
Grumbling Zeki took the turtle steps. He watched his four friends except one among them had a slight cunning smile on his Godly face; ignoring it. He was already out of his senses. He felt like instead of me pranking them, it turned out to be the other way around.
"Yo--uuuuu…."
"Why are you stammering now? Out of nowhere Zeki?" Bryan mocked him. It angered Zeki. He could not fathom why he always ends up as their target when he was not even the youngest among them.
They loved to pick on him. Zeki pouted as he tried to put a finger and find out why his friends enjoyed teasing him so much.
Caleb pitied him for being their lab rat but they can't control themselves when in truth it is him that encourages them to give him a piece of common sense.
Xavier too felt like they kind of went overboard with Zeki but his conscience prevented him from pitying him as it screamed how Zeki also never misses an opportunity to prank them and succeeds in them. Yet what kept hidden is that they let him play with them all this time since they didn't want him to become sad and upset.
"Zeki? On planet Earth?" Bryan had to say something to take Zeki out of his reverie.
Zeki's expressions contorted. He wanted to beat them but he couldn't. One against three, he would be the one at the disadvantage.
He gritted his teeth, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL TOOK LEVERAGE OF MY INNOCENCE FOR THIS LONG AND I REMAINED UNKNOWN TO EVERYTHING… You betrayed our bro code."
They got dumbfounded at the fake indictment on them. Robotically, they turned their heads and glanced at each other briefly.
Disbelief is as apparent on their frontier looks. It irked and rubbed them off in a bad manner. They glared back at Zeki furiously.
'What if I can't meet my bunny this week? I surely can entertain myself with the help of my friends who are no less than dorks. But I miss her blushing look and these dorks can't be like that.'
