"We need to go and meet my family this weekend."
Aza dropped the bomb while she munched on her dinner. The dinner the girls made was quite simple, it had cheese pasta, fried rice and salad. They didn't want to overeat since they had gone out in the evening for a quick snack but ended up having an early dinner.
Livia choked on her pasta, Serene handed her a glass of water and patted her back. After gulping water.
"And you are telling us now? Just one day before?... Wow…So kind of you, Our Majesty."
Livia sarcastically asked. Others also agreed with her in silence since they didn't stop her from talking to her.
"Hmm…." Just like that Aza neither took the bother to explain to her friends.
"Anyway, I AM SO EXCITED TO MEET UNCLE AND AUNT," Livia yelled. They had to cover their ears. They glared at her.
Feeling their glares, "What? Aren't you all hyped like me? It has been ages since I met them." She pouted.
Excitedly, Serene chimed in, "Yes! Livi is right. I missed our parents. We don't have time for them. I feel so bad whenever I say I will come but every time I have to reject them at the last moment. Still, they didn't ask me questions but I could understand how they felt."
They realised their mistake. They put their cutlery on the table and started to lament their past actions and how they had unintentionally hurt their parents.
"Serene, indeed we all hurt our partners. They look forward to our arrival yet we have to say no in the end. Sometimes, they do get angry and it is normal."
Diana balanced her elbows on the table and joined her palms together.
Livia sighed, "They have the right to get annoyed at us because it is not always that we get to have some family time."
"Side effects of being an elite."
Serene said in a gruff tone.
"Girls, you know this disguising and rejoining the college as a scholarship student all made me realise how others who might be below us in monetary value think that we who have an abundance of money and other riches live the life we want…."
Ines explained to them.
"Haa….They know nothing about the real life of an affluent person. How we live…"
Diana felt aggravated at how others would judge everyone based on their money status and looks.
"It is human nature. They keep admiring what others have and would assume those live the fantasy that they can only dream. We are enthusiastic about everything that won't involve us. They have an interest in what is happening in other's lives. During this, they forgot to enjoy their own life and thus we are labelled as so-called egoistic bitches and whatnot. And the sole reason they have for their allegations on us is God favoured us. He made us born in a highly reputed family along with many privileges. They believe that since we are so wealthy, we haven't face any discrimination or prejudice."
Ines had to tell her younger sisters about the dark sides of a human being. She does not have to as she knew they were all more mature than they needed to be at an early age.
Meanwhile, not a word left Aza's mouth. It was not needed. As Aza had her full belief and trust in her friends.
And it was known to the four girls too yet they glanced at Aza.
"We will need to leave at 10 am if you guys want to enjoy lunch together with your uncle and aunt."
"Argh!! You are so evil!!" Serene rambled
"No, she is not evil as even the word is would be ashamed of Aza,"
Livia stated.
Diana shook her head, "You both are wrong! Our Aza is Satan in disguise. She has two masks, the first is Athena and the other is Satan."
She proudly declared.
"By the way, since we are talking about disguise. Serene aka Grace, care to tell what exactly transpired in the canteen last week. You and what was the guy named??"
Livia giggled, "It was Sylius…..Was it not?"
She glimpsed at the blushing face of her flustered friend.
"Although I am not as gossipy as Diana and Livia; however, your minor interaction with Sylius seemed to be very intriguing to me. It quipped my inquisitiveness. "
Ines killed two birds with one stone. She insulted her two blabbermouth friends and displayed her curiosity considering Serene's reactions.
Aza watched them and didn't say anything.
What does she have to say?
When she, herself, didn't know what happened. As Aza was immersed in her bubble with Kaden.
Remembering him made her feel hot again.
'My brain must have lost some brain cells after meeting with that guy. How could he out of nowhere, wreck havoc in my peaceful life.'
She criticised Kaden yet she didn't notice that while the thoughts of him had curled her lips in a beautiful smile enough to blind.
Her train of thoughts was broken when she heard Serene's fierce voice.
__________
"Dia, you are misunderstanding. He was helping me only. Yes! That was it."
Serene attempted to drive the girl's attention away from her.
Yet she failed.
"Ho ho ho ho…. Are you trying to make us believe that or to yourself? For I could feel how you are not sure of your reply."
Livia teased Serene.
"Livi, Serene, our friend here, seems to be in a dilemma herself. We should not expect her to reply to us honestly as she might be too shy in front of us.
And I personally don't think, we need her to explain. It is already crystal clear," Diana leaned back on her chair.
She ensured that they had cornered their friend. She should not be left any way out.
Looking at the red colour dominant on her pale face, Diana smirked in victory.
Ines let out a tiny chuckle as she witnessed Diana's tactics. Shaking her head lightly, she swirls her head to the most silent person. She stares at Aza after waiting for her reaction for a while.
She raises her eyebrows when she notices the still figure of her friend engaged in her world.
Ines drifted her gaze off her when she saw the slight change in her due to Serene's words.
