She crouched in the bushes again, contemplating a suitable way out. The only conclusion that could be derived from this, was that she was definitely dreaming again. Without a second thought, she pinched her arm, expecting to confirm her theory.
"Ouch!" She screamed out, reminding herself at the last minute that she needed to keep her voice low.
'So, it was not a dream, then. What exactly was this...an instance of time travel? A parallel universe...a magic trap?'
She had read too many books of fantasy, but nothing she had ever come across, provided her any clue about the existence of the world she was in. Neither had the theory of quantum physics ever made her aware of such a type of a parallel universe where people could have access to magic.
In any case, she needed to go out and talk to them. Apart from her questions, first and foremost, she needed to warn Amélie that she was going to die soon,so she better be aware of it.
