Chapter 83 - Summit

Amélie was walking to-and-fro along the edge of the mountain once again. Reneé was missing; she had gone away without informing anyone, and Jasper and Ivan had not been able to find her yet. Zacharie was struggling to climb up to the summit; but he was trying nevertheless, with every part of him revolting in fear of the altitude. He was reminding himself with each trembling step, that this was something he needed to do, because he knew how she disturbed she must be due to the recurring events. He was fully expecting her to be at the verge of death, from anxiety. He knew it was meant to happen, but she had tried her best to change all the circumstances. She had gone so far and risked hurting everyone, to alter everything she could in the plan; and yet, her efforts were destined to go in vain. The encounter that had always been inevitable had finally happened, even after all the efforts she had made to avert it.
