Amélie felt like someone had hit her hard, right in the heart. She had known everything from the start, that Aldrick not only loved her like his only sister bonded by blood, but also as his mother; because this was the only difference she knew there was in his eyes, between her and Reneé.
She put her hand on his shoulder and pressed it firmly, saying, "Aldrick!"
"No, sister, let me speak today. I feel like the weight of the words I have been carrying in my heart is getting heavier, day by day. If I won't speak today, then it might pull me farther away from the surface and drown me in the ocean of grief."
Amélie looked at him without saying anything, and leaned her head against his shoulder. This was her way of saying that she was ready to listen to whatever her lovely brother was going to say.
Aldrick got the green light and continued.
