"I didn't do anything," Hinata says plainly, expression still.
Izna's eyes, on the other hand, are glossy and her face has lit up under the dim, flickering corridor light. She straightens her back and sways her hips, hands clasped behind her back.
He's curious to see what she'll say but she takes too long to speak and there's no point dragging the conversation.
"No one has asked about my feelings before," Izna replies to him, too late, and right before he's about to close the door.
Hinata pauses mid-action, not because he's surprised but because he's at a loss for words. He doesn't deserve any credit for being kind, especially when it's not something he would've done in any other circumstance.
Instead, he offers her an acknowledging nod and he locks the gate, the metal clicking as it shuts.
"Goodnight," she says, finally, perhaps her last attempt at continuing the conversation with him.
