Mizuki turns back once more at the forest that seems to halt all movement when she looks, and abandons it to leave for home.
She returns through the same way she came from, the portion of the fence that's blocked off by wooden planks but easier to get over than the rest of the fence.
Mizuki makes sure to not to get sighted by any of the locals in case rumours spread and there's a big deal made out of an operation meant to be a secret.
She shuffles through the neighbourhood conspicuously trying to hide something, avoiding the questioning gazes of nearby passers-by till she reaches the main path.
Mizuki lets out a sigh of relief, and then raises her bruised knuckles to her face.
It wouldn't be smart to disclose to anyone what happened in the forest. Not only would they bar her from going there on her own, but she might get roped into further issues that involve all the shady stories that shroud the forest.
