Mizuki runs so fast that she starts to lose her train of thought again, as if her thoughts are vaporising with the passing wind that hits her face. In the distance, the village is as bright as she's ever seen it, decorated with such bright lights that it's almost like she's watching a carnival from the eyes of a little kid.
Mizuki slows down just slightly to tuck the bandage into her pockets to get it out of the uncomfortable position in her mouth. She spits it out, not enjoying the taste of wool on her tongue. It's only when she slows that she realises how tired she is, her chest clenching in a way to show her that she's not physically ready to run.
Mizuki curses under her breath, coming to a complete stop as she lurches forward, hanging her head low in disappointment.
"I can't... do this…" she breathes (although, she might as well not at this point), her lungs pulling themselves apart.
