Mizuki's eyes widen in surprise. She averts her gaze back to meet him, scrutinizing his face for any sign of teasing, any hint that will tell her that he's joking. Meanwhile, he stares expectantly, eyes glimmering with something Mizuki knows she can't read into.
Very slowly and not so steadily, the butterflies she had learnt to tame start to unleash their wrath on the walls of her pitiful stomach.
"What?" she stutters, the weight of his words crashing down on her repeatedly and countlessly as she replays them in her head over and over. Does he realise what he's saying to me? Even after I told him he can only spend it with someone he loves?
