Mizuki manages to receive the gift under Marnie's name without too much trouble. All she needed was to mention her title, which painted her as reliable enough. She holds in her hands a petite, heart-shaped box carved out of wood and rims decorated with seashells.
It's small enough to fit only in the size of her palms as she fidgets with it, feeling something heavier inside. She is told through a passing comment by the shopkeeper that this gift had been ordered quite some time ago—with at least a month of difference between the order and this point.
"I'm sure she would have liked to send you her regards. She's been stuck at home, from what I could tell from the brief exchange I had with her. Strict parents, you know?" Mizuki laughs, leaving the conversation off on a light note as she waves and leaves the store.
It's at this point that she starts looking around with furrowed brows, wondering where on earth 'Zee' could've fled to in a few seconds.
