When an accidental stranger passes, uncovering Hinata, Mizuki notices that the space which held him is now empty. Mizuki lowers her gaze, the hair on her neck prickling her sensitive skin.
Clutching onto her limbs tighter, she realises that there's not much that she can confide in to a child. Rather, it's much worse because she sought to be more of a support to Sho than a friend, maybe like an elder-sister figure whom he could find family in.
"Snowball-san, if you're fighting with Red Hair-sama, will you speak to him? Oba-chan and Otou-san fought so much but everything that left their mouths were bad, bad words."
Mizuki turns her head to him and sadness flickers over her eyes, guilt weighing down on her heart from being so sluggish around Sho. She promised herself that she'd be better around him, and that she'd try to be a little happier for this little boy if not the rest of the world.
