Daniel woke up today early. He doesn't have this attitude of waking up early on a weekend. Today is Sunday. Usually, he will laze around and be comfy.
But now, after what happened yesterday, he's determined to take care of his responsibility to take care of Caro and her baby
Daniel planned on registering their marriage today since today is Sunday after all. After that, he'll go to his workplace and ask for a one year leave. If not, a resignation. He is confident enough he can support her and her baby. He has a lot of savings he can use up.
The first thing he did was to go to Caroline's room and check her up. Caroline is still sleeping so he grabbed the opportunity to make a breakfast for her. Yesterday, before he went to the bed, he researched foods a pregnant woman could eat. Today, he's preparing quite a lot for her. Five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, six servings of enriched, whole-grain breads and cereals and a serving of nonfat milk. You could see his dedication and passion on preparing these. He silently hoped that Caroline would like it.
Midway through cooking the breakfast, he heard footsteps. He disregarded it and continued what he was doing.
"Daniel?"
Daniel heard Caroline's calling so he quickly went outside the kitchen and found Caroline looking for him. He's still holding the spatula when he greeted her.
"Good morning Caroline. Did you have a good sleep?"
Upon hearing this, Caro just smiled and nodded. Daniel knew she's still hurting due to her trauma and bad experiences but little by little, he'll try to heal those up and hopefully, try opening her heart to him.
"Why don't go and sit at the table? I'll be done soon" he said as he pointed out his spatula in the direction where the table is located.
Caro did what he said and sat down at the table.
A few minutes later, he came out from the kitchen with delicious scent of cooked food lingering in the air. He placed the dishes in the table where Caro have been sitting. Daniel carefully chose what to eat for the breakfast. After the preparations, the ate silently.
Daniel broke out the silence by starting a conversation.
"Today is Sunday"
Caro was confused. "So?"
"My Mother said that Sunday's the best day to register marriage. Would you like to register our marriage today?" he said as he handed out Caro the dishes he prepared.
Caro took time before she answered his invitation.
"Sure"
"Okay then, after we eat, you could go to your room and change. Wait here"
Right after they eat, Daniel quickly cleaned up the table and headed straight to his room. He told Caro to go to her room and change and wait at downstairs for him. It took him a few minutes until he's all prepared. He met Caro at the living room sitting down.
"All good?" she asked
He simply nodded as they together head outside.
