Reva opened the glass door that connected the living room to the jacuzzi outside. This hotel room is the top room. Nobody will be able to see if someone is soaking in the jacuzzi. Reva doesn't feel like taking a bath right now. So Reva closed the glass door again and opened the curtains, looking at the outside.
"Your hotel is cool. I like it," said Reva.
Reva turned around, opened the refrigerator, took out a bottle of mineral water, and then drained it half. Reva kept the bottle on the table while walked to the bed and sat next to Charlos. Reva's fingers stroked the bed cover. Charlos noticed how long Reva's fingers were.
"Oh, yes?" Charlos then sat down and approached Reva. "You haven't seen the Poseidon Hotel I just built. It's much cooler. I designed the building myself."
Reva's brows knit together. "Then why don't we just go there?"
"The construction is not completely finished yet, Rev. When it's the grand opening, I'll definitely take you there."
"Okay." Reva smiled again.
"By the way why don't you just stay at my house?" asked Charlos hopefully.
"I ..." Reva laughed softly. "I feel bad, Charl."
Charlos frowned. He felt so uncomfortable.
"Besides, I'm only here one day," continued Reva. "I don't want to bother you. Just stay here for free, I'm so happy."
The first encounter will end as the sunsets. Charlos knows that they are both busy. He suddenly felt annoyed with all his work, which was so heavy and piling up, especially today.
Well, Charlos won't make things worse by being childish. He reminded himself that his main goal in Indonesia was not just to meet him.
"You said that it's close to a shopping center. I really want to go out. Would you like to accompany me? Charl ..." Reva's head tilted, watching Charlos, who was still gloomy.
"Rev, don't feel bad. I just want you to feel comfortable here. I'll do anything for you." Charlos gave him a severe look.
"Thank you, Charl. But I do feel very comfortable here. Thanks again." Reva's smile was genuine.
Charlos nodded slowly. Thankfully Reva felt comfortable in the hotel room Charlos had prepared. Honestly, Charlos didn't know how to treat Reva.
"Charl, let's go for a walk!" asked Reva in a more cheerful tone. "I want to eat rujak. He said that in Bandung it is best to eat rujak. I thought it was a kind of fruit salad. Hahaha ... Too long in Canada makes me almost forget my hometown."
"Rujak?" Charlos raised an eyebrow. "All right. Whatever ..."
Reva held Charlos's hand, which made him feel like he had an electric shock. "Come on, Charl. Don't be so sad. After the event, we can go anywhere you want. I'll try." Reva added.
"Okay I understand." Charlos tried to smile.
The atmosphere began to melt. Then Charlos dan Reva chatted casually. Reva tells about his journey from Canada to Singapore. Then change planes to Bandung.
Charlos could not cover himself that he was utterly smitten with Reva. He couldn't stop staring at Reva, watching every movement of the hand as Reva spoke.
His Indonesian is very fluent. Reva was born in Indonesia. Reva's mother is from Jakarta, while the father is originally from Canada. Since childhood, Reva moved to Canada.
Reva's skin was pale white. There is a reddish-brown tinge on Reva's shoulder-length curls. Reva's eyes are brownish and very distinctly brown when exposed to the sun. Reva was thin and very tall, taller than Charlos.
Charlos could not imagine anything more incredible than what he had seen on the screen in his heart. He was afraid that suddenly Reva yawned and disappeared from in front of him.
Charlos enjoyed looking at Reva, not paying attention to the words until Reva moved the hand in front of Charlos' face that looked like a fool.
"Hello? Are you daydreaming?"
"What? No." Charlos looked away. His eyes fixed on the ceiling. From the corner of his eye, Charlos could feel Reva smiling amusedly.
"Let's go, Charl!" Reva got up. Reva's hand stretched out, and Charlos greeted with a big smile.
Then they took a walk to the factory outlet on Riau Street. And of course, with hats, masks, and sunglasses. It was getting dark outside. Charlos wasn't sure he could see better while wearing sunglasses. They also bought rujak just like Reva wanted and bought some trousers and a leather jacket for the show later.
This date is what Charlos misses a lot if only Reva thought it was a date. Even though Charlos can't help but make this date a bit of a bother, they can't seem too close or too familiar. In a public place like this, there could be journalists.
"Okay Charlos, I'm done shopping."
Reva's face was grim to see Charlos' wary demeanor whenever someone passing by looked at them. Charlos did not answer immediately.
"Charl?" Reva patted Charlos on the shoulder, sending him to jump. "What's wrong with you?"
"What? No. I'm fine. Mmm ... Where are you going? Did you just shop?"
"Let's have dinner. I hope we eat at a restaurant that is reserved and a little personal," Reva said coldly. "My guard will accompany our dinner so that no one pays too much attention to you or me." Reva was pressed the forefinger against Charlos's chest.
"Oh ..." gasped Charlos. "Fine." Charlos tried to smile, which Reva didn't return.
During the trip, Reva spoke what was necessary. Charlos began to worry about this situation. Sitting was not at all comfortable. Many times Charlos changed positions. His eyes didn't stop glancing at Reva. He didn't mean to be awkward, but it didn't seem as easy as he had imagined.
This thing shouldn't have happened. This thing is what Charlos wants, to meet Reva, to be with Reva without fear or anxiety.
But it looks like the world forbids it. Charlos was still thinking about it.
After the sincere love he gave to a woman who left him and married another man, Charlos fell into a deep depression. Reva is someone who has raised Charlos from adversity. He would not miss a precious opportunity to please Reva.
Charlos turned the steering wheel. Finally, they arrived at a fancy French restaurant: La Verasion. They could see the lights flickering.
