Lana chuckled and started following Jess. They arrived at the principal's office and Lana went inside.
"Ohhh! Miss Kingsley, Here is your schedule and this is the key to your locker. I hope you get along well with your classmates and nourish your youth. Don't hesitate to approach me if anyone troubles you", said the principal in one breath as if he had practiced it for long. Lana giggled and took the schedule. "Dont worry Mr. Choi, I will." Lana said as she respectfully bowed. Then, she went out of the office.
"So? How is Mr. Choi?" Jessica asked while carefully scrutinizing Lana's schedule. "Hmmm, good i guess", Lana replied nonchalantly. They started walking towards their lockers. As soon as they reached the hallway, Lana went towards her locker and neatly placed all her stuff inside and kept the necessary stuff with herself.
Suddenly, Lana looked up and her eyes widened at the scene in front of her. She saw a boy was getting brutally beaten up by three other boys while other students were cheering, hooting, whistling while some other recorded videos. Lana's blood boiled seeing this. She was about to approach the boys when Jess held her hands.
"Lana, we are not here to fight and they are not powerless. This school is sponsored by the father of one of these kids and the other two are his best buddies. If you go against them, you're dead meat. I know you hate seeing someone get bullied but please, think about your mom and your future. Let them go. Promise me you will not mess with them" Lana was shocked but she understood her friend's concern and was well aware of the condition of her family. Lana slowly nodded her head and said, "I won't, until they mess with me." Jessica heaved a frustrated sigh and nodded, understanding that Lana was trying her best not to explode and would not be able to handle getting bullied. Jessica and Lana left the hallway and went into their classes.
