Many disciples began to whisper with each other when they saw a cart passing by with unconscious bodies of top ranked inner disciples. Many of them were surprised to learn that someone had dared to go against the five tyrants and that that very person who had done so succeed in taking them all down as well.
Xin Feng knew the biggest building would be where he needed to settle future problems, which was why he stopped exactly in front of one.
"I request an audience with the one who governs these criminals?!"
A servant who was taking care of the yard, quickly ran inside to notify his boss after hearing Xin Feng's demands. A while later a tall athletic woman with messy black short hair came out of her establishment. She commanded her servants to open to gate, before gesturing Xin Feng and the outer disciple to come in.
"I see… You can leave the cart."
"Follow me."
The two of them followed her to a tiny building which seemed to be a tea house. There, the three of them sat down at the floor, near a wooden table that reeked of fresh wood.
"Tea?"
"Sure."
The woman looked at the anxious outer disciple who quickly gave a nod. Having confirmed that both of them were okay with drinking tea, she began preparing. She moved her hand above the table, pulling out three tea cups and a box of fragrant tea leaves.
After the items had been placed, she held two fingers up before doing a slashing motion in the air with full elegance. As her fingers moved, a ball of hot water appeared near her hand, before it split itself in three to fill each cup. After placing three leaves on each cup of hot water, she lifted her cup of tea, before slowly savoring it with her eyes closed.
"Dual roots?" Xin Feng asked while sipping his tea as well.
…
Due to the explanations of Liu Lue before, he was able to learn about the roots. They were called roots, because they were basically a root that is connected with the force of Celestial beings.
Based on the legends, four mortals were gifted these roots to become champions of these Celestial beings to fight for them. The mortals were able to become immortal by figuring out how to cultivate spirit energies with their roots. Time went by with many champions being selected to fight, and as time went by some of their offspring were able to be born with special roots like lightning.
Liu Lue came with the conjecture that Xin Feng might be the second generation of chosen mortals, hence why the reason for the old man's for that Xin Feng's potential.
…
"Yes… But water is the dominant root." The woman replied while continuing with her tea.
At this moment, while talking to each other, both Xin Feng and Hua Mei seemed like a match made in heaven, as they were both sipping on their tea with elegance and an air of arrogance. They were in sync, making the outer disciple look like the awkward friend who got invited to the wrong party.
Xin Feng looked at the woman in interest and admiration. When he was still in earth, he liked these types of people, because he was similar to them and wanted to be like them. Elegant, proud, and most importantly, badass…
Xin Feng gazed upon her while sipping his tea, which she in turn did as well. Her skin was a bit tanned. Her short hair reached the bottom of her ear. She wore large pants that was similar to Kungfu pants. Her upper body had only a cloth covering her chest, and the leather boots she was wearing was a nice combination to the black and gray color of her pants and cloth.
"I'm Xin Feng, direct disciple of Xin Fan." Xin Feng introduced himself, as he placed his token on the table with his free hand.
"Oh." Her eyebrow perked in interest.
"I'm Hua Mei. It is an honor meeting you, direct disciple… Or should I say, direct chosen?"
"Ehe~ Rumors sure do spread fast, huh?"
"Indeed..." She replied with a smile before gulping down the rest of her tea. She stood up, before continuing, "I understand your visit, but they're not my problem."
"But…" The outer disciple was confused.
Hua Mei walked with her hand behind her back, before crouching behind Xin Feng to massage his shoulders. "They're the same as people that stay in an inn. What they do in my area is up to them, as long as they don't ruin my place and cause too much of a disturbance."
"Know this…" Her eyes made contact with the outer disciple, before she continued to say, "We are not your caretakers. You have your own position of work and we pay you what's promised accordingly."
After saying so, she stopped massaging Xin Feng, and started walking towards the outer disciple. Now, behind her was Xin Feng and in front of her the outer disciple. She was in between the two of them, and could now talk face to face to the both of them by simply crouching a little while moving her head occasionally.
"If you're already troubled by fellow disciples, how are you going to hold against evil cultivators or scheming beasts? Grow stronger, that's the only solution."
While saying these words, she had eye contact with the outer disciple, and when she was finished with her words, she turned her head to face Xin Feng with a kind smile of hers…
Having said everything that she needed to say and having said everything the two needed to hear, she then stood straight up again before walking away from the tea house.
As she was walking, she spoke again…
"There might be days where you'll receive help like today." She said, stopped her sentence before completely finishing it, and stopping her motion completely to stand still.
A second passed before she continued her words…
"But you shouldn't take someone's effort to help for granted, because one day when there's no one, you'll certainly die."
*Clap! *Clap! *Clap*
"That's some good advice for you, junior brother! You should take her advice to heart. You'll definitely benefit from it in the near future."
"I… I understand senior brother."
Xin Feng and the outer disciple were having a conversation of their own, after they had heard the wise words of Hua Mei.
Meanwhile, when Hua Mei heard what Xin Feng said, a delighted smile couldn't help itself from surfacing on the face of hers.
'Looks like I found myself a new friend today… ' Hua Mei thought with the delighted smile of hers…
