The Venerable's new form was quickly overcome by Surtr's strength and strange abilities, something the ancient Venerable of war and bloodshed had not accounted for. It wasn't that he was dumb, it simply was that he had little idea about what Surtr could do in his new form after evolving to this point.
And now, he finally showed him what he truly was capable, not only had Surtr become incredibly tough, but his Unique Skill, [Heavenly Smith] had evolved and also become part of his Ascendancy Law, becoming something completely out of the ordinary and beyond its original abilities and limits.

The Venerable genuinely screamed in agony as his entire head was torn apart, which was a part of his exposed soul. Surtr had completely countered his destructive attack by using it as an element and "forging it" through his abilities and use it to his advantage.
