Skandar
'Why does he not notice me? I have been his friend since like… forever… who knows him better than I do.' Skandar thought to himself, walking the street after passing Archer's shop.
'Maybe I could invite myself to his place later or would that seem desperate? God I haven't done this much talking to myself since my exams years ago, what's wrong with me?'
"Sounds like you are in love with your guy friend" a feminine voice came out of nowhere, "and by the look on your face, you have it bad for him" she finished.
"Oh hello there, you scared me a bit. If I'm really that obvious right now, how is it that he hasn't noticed me?"
"Erm… I don't know. Is he that fairycake guy I saw you talking to?" she asked with a cute smile.
"Err… Yes he is the guy I like, but he just sees me as a friend and I don't know what to do?" Skandar asked without realizing.
"I think you should take your own advice and invite yourself to his, I think it's a good idea, because he seems to be a bit preoccupied to notice anything right now." She advised kindly, "I got to dash now, but it was good talking to you" and she elegantly dashed off.
'Well she was a nice lady, very helpful' Skandar said quietly.
Skandar took her advice and thought long and hard about what he advised himself and considered all the possibilities. There were more good points to bad points. Skandar was never a confident individual, he had always doubted his own abilities, even with the help from his parents and teachers, he still found it hard to do anything. It wasn't until he met Archer that made everything seem easy. 'How does Archer do it?' Skandar asked himself, 'I'm gonna ring him and go to his place tonight'
'What am I going to say?'
'I guess it will come to me. That's if I don't lose my voice on hearing his gentle tone. Right I'm gonna shut up and just do it'.
Skandar shut the voices out from his head and went into his contacts list. There at the top was Archer's name where he stared at it for a while before pressing the call button. It started to ring, but it took a while that made Skandar anxious. Skandar was about to hang-up. "Hello?" Archer's voice spoke gentler than usual and beautiful.
"Hello! Skandar? Are you alright?" Archer asked with a slight of worry in his tone.
"Er… Hi… Hi Archer, I'm alright." Skandar started trying to regain his breath, "I called to ask if I could come round to yours and help you with anything or just keep you company?" Skandar asked. 'That sounds pathetically desperate' Skandar mouthed to himself.
"Erm… Sure… If you want to, it would be nice to have some company." Archer said.
"See you in a bit" Skandar finished hanging-up.
Skandar freshened-up by jumping in the shower and slipped into something casual and comfy.
