The Prince
There was a young Prince who spent most of his time living within the mansion walls, being present when his mother organized events for him to meet the people and get to know the Princesses. It wasn't until that one night on his 30th birthday, he spotted a guy through his window. 'So free and so confident…' the Prince thought. He replayed the memory in his mind over and over throughout his celebration, he wasn't really enjoying dancing with all the Princesses. No matter what they did the Princesses failed to grab his attention.
There wasn't a day that went by where he didn't think about what it would be like on the other side of the walls. He started to contemplate his options, but he did not want to let his mother down. He also wanted to know what the other people are like. He wanted to be more independent, he wanted to roam the streets like that guy he saw the other night. Just then, as he looked out the window, he saw him again but in his well-fitted business suit and noticed his ass as he turned the corner. His heart skipped a beat.
He jumped up onto his feet almost spraining his ankles, he limped over to his walk-in wardrobe and picked out something to help him blend-in. Only half dressed his mother walked-in.
"There's my gorgeous Prince Lorcan, the future King of this country."
"Hi Mother, What brings you here? You never normally come into my room, what's happened?" The Prince asked.
"Can't a mother check on her son without the suspicion?" There was silence.
"Well any mother is ok but you, you always want something, so what is it?"
"Well, I just want to ask why you kept rejecting all those beautiful Princesses last week, I just want you to be happy"
"And I will be happy, I just didn't feel a connection with any of them. They are too pretentious and… how shall I put this…, I… I am not into women, I prefer… men mother"
His mother was lost for words and turned-away to walk out the room. Although she was out of sight Lorcan could hear her cries, he felt somewhat responsible but he still wanted to go out that night.
"Son? You know I will always love you, I don't know why I'm upset, I should have known really, but I guess I had hoped it wasn't true" his mother sobbed, as she walked back in and gave Lorcan a hug.
The Prince said nothing and just hugged his mother whilst looking at the clock. He thought to comfort her for a while until she fell asleep. He then snuck out with a big smile on his face to embark on a new adventure. Well for him it was kind of a mini adventure.
He walked the streets that his apartment overlooked. He was amazed how it was still bustling. He wanted to see more and decided to ride the trains, not really knowing where he was going or what to expect. All the time he was exploring 'new' sights he was smiling and enjoying himself.
It was about midnight now and he was just about ready to go home, but he was a little lost. Just then he was approached by a group of guys offering to help him. Some other guy jumped Lorcan from behind and he found himself pinned against the wall, he tried to get a word out but couldn't as he was punched several times. Passerbys ignored him as if it was a normal thing to see. It wasn't until one guy came running giving them a few beatings and helped the Prince get on his feet.
"Here you go, don't you look a mess, you shouldn't be interacting with people like them." The man said with a smile.
"Thought they were a friendly bunch, chatting and laughing, guess I was wrong. I only needed directions to get back home" Lorcan responded as he brushed himself off.
"Well you're in luck I am free to take you wherever you need to go".
"Oh Thank You…...sorry what's your name?"
"My name is Archer, pleased to meet you..." Archer greeted with a hand shake.
"I'm Prince Lorcan Riverty…" Archer bowed down almost immediately. Prince Lorcan gestured to him to stand. "Archer get up you protected me there's no need for that,". Archer looked up still down on one knee with a slight smile, their eyes locked. Lorcan saw a glimmer in Archer's eyes as he stood. There was a moment as they leant in closer tasting each others breath.
They both chatted all through the train journey, they had received so much information about one another. Suddenly Not too long after the moment was broken as they stood in full view of the mansion.
"Why did you stop Archer?" Prince Lorcan asked.
"Just the mansion, I mean I've always known it's there but… It's so big and amazing…" Archer described.
"It's just my house Archer…" Prince Lorcan took hold of Archer's arm, pulled him close so they were tasting each other's breath again, feeling the heat of one another.
Archer broke apart realising it was getting late and he still had lots to do. As Archer walked away from Lorcan he stopped and turned around with a smile to find Lorcan watching him. Archer felt something he hadn't felt before and he turned and ran in the opposite direction. Later that evening Lorcan laid on his bed unable to sleep, unable to shake the feeling.
The following morning, he was smiling from ear to ear, with a slight glow upon his face. After a sleepless night, he felt a little sluggish. He continuously thinks about his new found friend 'Archer'. He wanted to see him again. He awaits for that time to see his devilish smile.
