As the giant sword crashed it cracked the surrounding ground sending tremors to where Heath and Lark were standing along with the nearby buildings which Vilson's unit had mounted.
The tremendous blow led to a gust of dust reducing vision as Lark and Vilson could see nothing before them. Then suddenly someone grabbed Lark behind from the shoulder.
"What is it", said lark without turning back.
"Did you say something", shouted heath from a distance.
Realizing that the one behind him wasn't heath, Lark swung his spear just to be stopped midway. It was Rein who have grabbed the spear just before it had hit his face.
Rein: This eldritch being is tough, it will need a big impact to wipe him out. You've got ten minutes clear the area for at least five-hundred-meter radius, otherwise you'll get caught in it.
Lark: Caught? In what? And what do you mean by eldritch?
Rein: [sighs] Five hundred meters, get out of it NOW!
Heath: Lark!
Lark: Here! [Waving his hand *aggressively trying to blow away the dust].
Lark: [Turning back towards heath] Now, what were you saying about the eldritch being.
The dust started fading and so did Rein for he was nowhere to be found when Lark looked back at him after waving at Heath.
Lark: Where did he go? [looking around]
Heath: What are you looking for?
Lark: Rein. He was here just now.
[Approaching footsteps]
Both Heath and Lark grabbing their weapons focused their vision in the direction of the approaching footsteps, where they could see two distinctive figures approaching. They were ready to strike when they both heard the same voice in their head on account of which they lowered their weapons. It was Vilson and Nord.
"Hi there fellas," said Nord with a smile on his face.
Vilson: You two saw that right. The anomality and that humongous sword. Who is doing this?
"Most probably rein", replied Heath.
Vilson: Most probably! Then are you not sure about it.
Heath: I am just taking in account the probability-
"Yes, he is and as a matter of fact he was here just a second ago." said lark.
"Why was he here, I thought he was fighting the anomality," said Heath.
Lark: Well Mr. big brain that huge-
"Ok, I get it," said heath in a condensing tone.
Vilson: HE THREW THAT 10 FOOT GIANT! [visible shock on his face]
"He must be strong then," commented Nord with a smirk on his face.
"He said to clear the surrounding area," added Lark.
"Why", questioned Heath.
Lark: Something about big impact and getting caught in it.
"So, he is telling me to run away, again!" frowned Heath.
The dust was almost translucent, and the frenzy began once again.
The crater as they could see was filled with the dead, the sword still stood firmly vertical with the corpses crawling about. There was silence amidst the havoc which was shattered with a deafening roar followed by catapult of corpses as the anomality propelled the sword back in the air.
As they gazed the gigantic sword soaring in the star filled sky, distant screaming of the civilians whose houses were destroyed in the falling impact grabbed their attention.
Some were buried in the rubble with their distressed families trying to get them out, while some were crushed in an instant.
The worse fate fell upon those who agonized in pain as they were ripped apart some from limb to limb, while some had their guts spilled out by the living dead.
On one side the anomality stood firmer brimming with rage while on the other the risen dead extinguished the living.
The soaring sword fell into the hands of his owner shrinking back to its original size. The moon shined from beyond while the one with crimson red eyes reckoned the facade from above.
"Damn you Rein," yelled Heath blazing with fury as he saw people dying.
"We don't have privilege to curse just yet," said Vilson as he drew out his bow.
Vilson: [using telepathy] From now on every unit has their own free will. Save whoever you can.
