Chapter 14 - Killing Lesser Demons

This was not the first time Thomas had seen a dark creature like a Lesser Demon.

They were the lowest level of dark creatures, and like the Rat-Men, they were the food of high-level dark creatures.

They were timid, afraid of light, and weak in battle.

The only thing to be praised was their extraordinary reproductive ability.

They were even more powerful than the Rat-Men.

They were like weeds in the wilderness, they could not be killed no matter how hard they tried.

When they acted alone, they were very timid.

However, when they gathered enough of their own kind, they became very courageous.

When there were enough of them, they even dared to attack the Dark Dragons.

It was unknown what the structure of their brain circuits was.

Seeing that they were Lesser Demons, Thomas could not help but frown.

Although these Lesser Demons were very weak in combat, it would be troublesome if there were too many of them.

Moreover, once they gathered together, it would attract other dark creatures over.

It would be troublesome if a group of high-level dark creatures was to come over.

The best solution was to kill them before they gathered enough of them.

However, they were very alert and had been hiding outside the range of the bow and arrows, so Arya and the others could not do anything to them.

"O'Neill, go up and kill them," Thomas said to O'Neill.

"Yes, Sir Thomas."

After receiving the order, O'Neill immediately led three of his subordinates to charge towards the Lesser Demons that had gathered together.

When the Lesser Demons saw O'Neill charging towards them, they immediately scattered and fled in all directions.

By the time O'Neill reached the vicinity, they had already disappeared without a trace.

After a fruitless search, O'Neill walked back resentfully.

"Sir Thomas, these shrapnel ran too fast. I can't catch up with them," O'Neill said in annoyance.

"It doesn't matter. Escaping is their specialty. If they didn't even have this little ability, they would have been killed long ago," Thomas said.

"Sir, look, they are back." Arya pointed into the distance and spoke.

Thomas looked up and was surprised to find that these little Lesser Demons had returned. Moreover, the number of them was much more than before. There were more than thirty of them, which had doubled.

This time, they were bolder and closer to each other than before.

"Damn you, don't run if you have the guts!" O'Neill rushed out with his subordinates again.

Seeing this, the Lesser Demons immediately fled in all directions.

By the time O'Neill caught up with them, they had already disappeared.

"A bunch of damn reptiles." O'Neill spat and returned to the camp resentfully.

"Sir Thomas, I failed to live up to your expectations. I didn't catch those damn monsters."

"It's okay. It's not your fault." Thomas patted O'Neill on the shoulder.

"Sir Thomas, they're back," Arya said helplessly.

Everyone looked into the distance. Those Lesser Demons had returned.

Moreover, the number of them had increased again. There were more than eighty of them.

This time, they were bolder. They began to try to reach into the light.

Seeing this, O'Neill wanted to rush out, but he was stopped by Thomas.

"Don't go. I have a way to deal with them."

"Sir Thomas, what do you think we should do?" O'Neill was angry with these little Lesser Demons. As long as he could catch them and beat them up, he would agree to anything.

"Go dim the light of the Great Lighthouse. Remember, dim it bit by bit. Don't dim it all at once. Also, get your men to go out from the back of the camp and quietly go behind the group of Lesser Demons. However, you are not allowed to show up without my orders. Now, no one is allowed to attack without my order."

Thomas arranged.

"What do you mean, sir?" Arya seemed to have guessed something.

"Yes, let them in and kill them all together. Don't let any of them escape."

"Understood." O'Neill and Arya immediately went to separate operations.

The light of the lighthouse in the camp began to dim, and the range of the light began to gradually shrink.

The Lesser Demons were very vigilant. When they saw the light dim, they first retreated some distance and observed for a while. When they saw that the light was indeed shrinking, they cautiously approached the lighthouse and kept testing the light.

There were even a few Lesser Demons who walked into the range of the lighthouse's light, but Thomas did not give any orders. He just watched as the Lesser Demons walked in bit by bit.

Without realizing it, the Lesser Demons approached the camp bit by bit.

They were getting closer and closer to the camp.

100 meters, 50 meters, 25 meters, 20 meters...

When they were about 10 meters away, Thomas suddenly shouted, "Now, light up the Great Lighthouse!"

The light of the lighthouse instantly shone and covered a range of 200 meters again.

The Lesser Demons couldn't open their eyes when the lighthouse suddenly lit up.

They couldn't help but run around on the spot.

"All attack! Don't leave a single one alive!"

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The archers who had prepared beforehand immediately drew their bows and released their arrows.

One arrow after another shot towards the Lesser Demons who were running around.

The Lesser Demons who couldn't open their eyes because of the light didn't have the ability to resist at all. More than ten of them were instantly shot to death.

Boom! Boom!

Even the Continuous Fireball Tower began to show its might.

The runes on the tower began to shine, and fireballs began to condense around the magic balls at the top of the tower. Then, as if they had eyes, they smashed towards the Lesser Demons.

A fireball hit a Lesser Demon.

The Lesser Demon was instantly burned into charcoal by the fireball, turning into a pile of black ashes.

The fireball exploded with a loud bang, turning into countless sparks that flew in all directions, scattering onto the bodies of the surrounding Lesser Demons.

The temperature of these sparks was also extremely high, even directly burning through the skin of the Lesser Demons, causing them to howl in pain.

The fireball roared, the bow and arrows flickered, and in a moment, more than thirty Lesser Demons were killed.

There were still more than 20 Lesser Demons lying on the ground, unable to fight.

The remaining Lesser Demons gradually regained their vision and began to flee in all directions.

The archers standing on the Arrow Tower naturally would not let them go and began to kill them one by one.

More than 20 Lesser Demons were killed on their way to escape.

Before they could rush out of the range of the Great Lighthouse, three close-combat soldiers with bronze shields and spears suddenly appeared outside.

They had chased after the Lesser Demons with O'Neill a few times just now, and they had long held back their anger.

How could they let them escape this time?

The leading close-combat soldier kicked one of the Lesser Demons flying with one kick. Then, he stabbed the spear in his hand and actually pierced through the two Lesser Demons.
