Tonight was the introduction between Dila and Bara. Bara's core family will visit Dila's family's house.
Dila deliberately went home early to prepare herself to meet her future husband. Naura and Ria were helping Dila to dress up. Dila's two sisters-in-law have been teasing her.
"Who is going to meet a future husband," Ria joked, making Dila's cheeks blushed.
"Our sister-in-law is beautiful," said Naura, nodding back by Ria.
"Surely you will be happy. Father and mother may not find you a husband carelessly. Love can grow after marriage. Dating with the lawful is more enjoyable. Hopefully you will have children soon after marriage." Ria said.
Dila had no choice but to grimace and smile. She camouflaged to hide her feelings. Her heart still belonged to Fatih, a man who had had her heart for eight years. Dila was forced to accept this matchmaking because she didn't want to burden her parents because she was still single at the age of 30. It was not good to bear the title of old virgin.
Bara and his parents arrived at Dila's house. The three of them were greeted by Dila and Iqbal's parents.
"Welcome to our hut," said Defri, Dila's father and greeted Herman, Bara's father.
"Always be humble. Where is a hut? A house as good as this is called a hut," said Herman jokingly.
"Please come in." Lusi, Dila's mother, invited Bara's family to come in.
Prospective family chats warmly. Ranti, Bara's mother seemed enthusiastic and even helped Lusi in the kitchen preparing snacks.
"Ranti, don't bother. Let it be me." Lusi hesitated.
"It's okay Lusi. We are in-law candidates, don't hesitate like that." Ranti took the tray and served the drinks in the living room.
Bara looked handsome and charismatic. Using black jeans and a red shirt. The level of Bara's good looks had increased many times. Actually Bara was lazy to come to meet Dila but he could not refuse because tonight he was acquainted with his future wife.
Accompanied by Ria and Naura, Dila came to the living room and approached Bara's family. When Dila and Bara met they showed shocked expressions.
"Dila," he said. Bara and Dila were pointing at each other.
Dila was speechless knowing her future husband was Aldebaran, a young entrepreneur who was famous in the city of P.
Bara was shocked. He did not see Dila's photo and identity when Herman handed him the brown envelope containing Dila's personal data. Instead, he gave the brown envelope to Dian to be investigated.
"Do you know eachother?" Ranti and Lusi asked compactly.
"Yes, we do," answered Bara and Dila compactly.
Everyone in the living room laughed because Dila and Bara gave a simultaneous answer.
"It's really a match," teased Defri, provoking laughter from everyone.
"Where do you know?" Lusi was curious.
"Mr Bara is a priority customer at Dila's office, Ma," Dila replied flatly.
"Mama, papa, uncle, auntie. I want to talk privately with Dila, can I?" Bara asked.
"Yes," Defri replied. "You guys just chat near the swimming pool. We parents will discuss about your marriage matters."
Dila took Bara to the swimming pool because she knew each other as a customer and a bank officer. There was no feeling of awkwardness between them.
"I just wanted to ask Dila. Why is a woman as beautiful as you willing to accept this match? I'm sure there are many men who like you," Bara asked to the point.
"Why is Mr. Bara also accept this matchmaking?" Dila asked back.
Bara smiled sweetly. Dila instead of answering, she asked back
"Don't be too formal. Just call me Bara or Bar to be more familiar. First, I don't have time to find a partner because I'm busy at work. Second, I want to make my parents happy. You?"
"Same. I also want to make my parents happy. I don't want them to worry about my status. I don't want them to be ashamed of having a child who is an old virgin. I believe in my parents' choice. I leave my soul mate in God's hands. Indeed if Mr. Bara is the mate given by God, I'm grateful with that, "said Dila shyly invited Bara to laugh.
"That means you accept this match and never refuse?"
"I surrender. Death, birth and matchmaking is God's destiny, isn't it?
"You're right Dil. I'm happy if you don't mind being my wife, even though there's no love between us. Hopefully we can be friends." Bara held out his hand.
Dila returned Bara's reaching hand.
"Hopefully we can be good friends," replied Dila, smiling sweetly.
"We will become husband and wife, make it a habit to call me Bara. Don't speak formally anymore."
"Alright Bar," said Dila, blushed.
Dila was quite relieved to know Bara. At least there were no awkwardness between them. It turned out that the meeting with the prospective husband and in-laws was not as scary as Dila thought.
"This is very strange for me. Why is it all coincidence? " Dila asks Bara.
"I also do not know. Is this my father's doing? "
"What do you mean?"
"Wasn't it my father who brought us together?"
"Yes, I remember. At that time I was still marketing at MBC bank. I need a new customer to hit the target. I ask your father for help. "
"I understand."
"Looks like my dad really likes you. I'm sure this matchmaking must be the idea. " Bara looks annoyed.
"Can we refuse?"
"I don't think so. My parents we planned this. Maybe we are good friends. "
"Marriage is not a game. I only want to get married once in my life. " Dila spoke honestly
"I don't even have the desire to get married."
"Why?" Dila was curious.
"Troublesome. I can live without women. "
"Surely you are having a bad romance so you don't want to get married. Have you been betrayed?"
Bara shook her head.
"Then?"
"Loving only makes us hurt. I've been through that so much that I don't want to fall in love anymore. "
"You are traumatized."
"You can say that." Bara smiled sweetly. "So, how about us?"
"We will get married but respect each other's privacy. How?"
"I agree. Can not escape. If I refuse my mom will get sick. "
Without Bara and Dila realizing their story has just begun. Perhaps this will be the most stressful, tearful and intriguing love story ever.
