It was the 21st century, 2120, and the atmosphere was Joyous in the Hashimoto house hold, the family of four was enjoying the biggest feast the had yet, talking about their love life, school life and just overall personal life, having the moment of their lives, except for one person.
The one person is ***** Hashimoto. He appears to be around 8-years-old with short messy dark blue hair, black eyes, and a yellow X that acts as a pupil. From the way he looks: having stains and tears on his orange jacket and white pants that have been worn out to the point it looked like clothes that hasn't been worn for hundreds of years. And many bruises that he covered with bandages, and when he couldn't find any, he used toilet paper.
He watches from the living room as the family eats and enjoys their new year's lunch. It looks like they're having the best time of their life. He gripped firmly onto the worn out and dusty Teddy Bear, squeezing it harder than it needs to be.
"Young master, I have a present for you." The young boy looked back to see from which direction that old yet defined voice came, and as he did so, he found himself looking at an old but lean man dressed in a butler's outfit.
"Sebastian, what do you mean you have a present for me?" He stared at Sebastian in confusion until he saw him holding a small box wrapped in birthday wrapping.
"It's is exactly as I said young master. I brought you a birthday present." Before handing the box to the young master, he smiled ever so softly that it would put a baby bum to shame.
The young boy grabbed the box given to him in confusion before putting together his own meaning of what Sebastian said, and as he did so, a sad expression appeared on his face.
"I see..." He turned to walk to the dinner table to give the gift to his family, but Sebastian stopped him before he could even take a step, by placing a hand on the young master's shoulder. "Where do you think you're headed, young master?"
"I'm going to give the present to them just like you wanted me to."
Sebastian chuckled amused at the young boy's misunderstanding. In retrospect, it wasn't the young boy's fault for deciding to give the present to his so-called family even though Sebastian said it was a present for him. It surprised him that anyone would give him a present, and he thought it was a joke from his family. Due to what they've seen in that house and what the young boy has experienced, Sebastian couldn't hold it against the young boy for thinking that he was playing a twisted joke on him.
"This is not a joke, it's a present for you, not the master or mistress." As he heard that, his eyes looked wide as tears flowed down his right eye, quickly rubbing it to stop crying.
"Are you saying this is for me?" HE looked down at his present and looked up at Sebastian to see if he was dreaming or not.
"That's right young master *****. Now, why don't you open it and take a look what's inside." Said Sebastian with that same gentle smile he had on when he handed the present to *****.
He did just as Sebastian told him. He opened his present to see what it contained, but what he saw would change his smiling face to its lifeless state.
"It's not what you think. It may look like there's nothing there on the surface but there is something there, and that something is a name."
"But I already have a name." Said the young master as he tilt his head slightly to the right in confusion.
"This name is different."
"How so?"
"The meaning of a name goes much deeper than just addressing who you are. It can either tie someone down or bring them up, in your case, it's bringing you down. That's why my gift to you is a new name. Just think of one yourself, so whenever you think of that name, you wouldn't feel alone anymore." He patted the young boy's head as he gave an even more gentle smile than he ever before.
"Really, I can have my own name?"
"Yes. So what's your new name?"
"My new name is..." As he was telling Sebastian about his new name, the teddy bear he was holding dropped to the floor as a silent, yet loud thud could be heard when it fell to the floor, drowning out the noise of everything around.
