Several hours have passed since departing from Overlord's space station, and Navar lies unconscious on a resting bed aboard the ship. Jax nudges his shoulder, trying to wake him up from his slumber. "Navar? Are you ok?"
Navar regains consciousness and blinks his eyes open to see Jax sitting beside him. "Y-yeah..." Navar realizes he's no longer in the space station and jumps out of bed to inspect his surroundings. "Wait, a second! I was fighting Overlord not too long ago! Where am I?!"
"You're on a ship, and Overlord is no longer alive. He and his space station got swallowed up by a rift."
"Oh... I see," Navar trudges back to his bed, his footsteps heavy with weariness, and sits down at the edge, his bewildered expression giving way to one of solemn contemplation.
"Navar, are you alright?"
"Sort of, but durin' my fight with Overlord. He changed from that emotionless creature and started crying. I know he's a bad guy and all, but…."
"But what? What do you mean?"
"I kinda felt like him and I were similar. It's strange, but we shared the same dream."
"You did? Wow, that's odd..."
"Yeah..."
Their conversation comes to a temporary pause as Jax wanders toward the exit of the resting quarters. "Do you want some water, Navar?"
"Sure, water is fine."
Jax strolls from the resting quarters, and swings open the door of the ship's refrigerator, greeted by the cool air and rows of neatly arranged food. He reaches into the fridge, feeling the cool air rush over his face, and then hears a whistle from beside him. As he turns his head to the right, he catches sight of Haru sipping tea with a gracious smile. "Hey, Jax, I just wanted to congratulate you on that shot. That was a shot even an elite marksman couldn't hit. That shot shaved millions of lives."
"Well, let's just say the higher the stakes, the better I perform."
"That's good. We need our cadets to learn how to perform under pressure."
"Luckily, I already learned how to deal with pressure at home. Trying to do chores on time with an angry mother over your shoulder is pretty terrifyin'."
"That's good, Jax," Haru gives Jax a reassuring smile and a comforting pat on the shoulder. "Now get some rest. You all earned it," Haru strides toward the pilot quarters of the spaceship, his footsteps echoing in the quiet hallway.
"Haru..."
Haru looks over his shoulder. "Yes?"
"Do you think Soma will hate us in the afterlife for leavin' him behind?"
"Honestly, Jax, I don't know what he'd think. But just be thankful you get to live another day. This life isn't something you should take for granted. And if there is an afterlife, I'm sure he'll understand that we had to save the lives of millions of people. That was the top priority."
"Thanks, Haru."
"Don't mention it, kiddo," Haru enters the piloting area of the room, and he notices 499's blank stare as he looks out the front window. He trudges beside him, taking in the illustrious sight of space before him. His smile stretches from ear to ear as the ostentatious scenery delights him. "Wow, I tell you what. One thing I'll never get tired of is this serene view of space. It's so beautiful."
"..."
"Anyways, Cap, how did you sleep?"
"I didn't.."
"I see.... how far are we from the Ozania Capital World?"
"About three hours, but we'll have to wait before we go back."
"Why is that?"
"Because the remnants of The Goblin Army have deployed their forces on The Capital World for one last attack."
"But Overlord has been defeated. Why are they still fighting?"
"It's how they were crafted. No matter what the circumstance, so long as the person they're programmed to believe is their enemy, they'll attack them until the enemy is dead or they are."
"I see... so how about some coffee while we wait?"
"I'll pass...."
We now go into the POV of The Ozanian Forces in the capital world. In a lopsided battle, 700,000 Ozanian soldiers are pitted against a force of 20,000 Goblins, and the fight is intense. Two hours into the battle, the Ozanian Forces defeated 10,000 Goblin and Elf Soldiers, leaving 698,000 Ozanian Soldiers and 10,000 Goblin and Elf soldiers remaining.
The looming threat of defeat is causing restlessness among the Goblins and Elves, who are bombarded by thermal energy blasts. "Sir! We're getting pulverized. What do we do?" asks a Goblin Soldier.
The Goblin Squadron's leader places his hand on a universal pager, a device capable of connecting to many simultaneously. "Everyone! Back up and deploy the shields to halt the fire! We can't match their firepower as it stands!" With the granted authority, the Goblin and Elf forces retreat a couple of steps and raise a shield in the middle of the battlefield, shielding themselves from any hostile fire.
As he commands the battle in the Evac-12 bunker, Bushiyon gets a page from Rai himself. "Excuse me, Bushiyon, can you send the order for the soldiers to go on standby? I'd appreciate it."
"Are you sure? There's no telling what the Goblins and Elves will do if we let down their weapons."
"Don't you worry…" I'll be there in an instant," Rai ends the page with Bushiyon.
"I can't stand when he does this…." Bushiyon turns on his universal pager to all the forces in the Ozanian Capital World. "Men! Go on standby per order of the Emperor!"
"Yes, sir!" The Ozanian soldiers secure their blasters and rifles, creating a momentary pause until Rai materializes beside a man operating a turret.
The turret operator's body convulses in shock. "Jeez, you scared me, Lord Rai! When did you get here?!"
"Just now," Rai's face lights up with admiration as he grins at the soldier.
"Oh, so what do you need?"
"I want all of you to get out of here. I got this."
"But wait, Lord Rai. You'll get hurt, let- "
The turret manner is interrupted by a tap on the shoulder by an Ozanian veteran. "Hey, kiddo, it's best to step aside. That's one of 'The Supreme Lords' He can more than handle this himself."
Rai pages Bushiyon. "Order all the forces to retreat if you will…."
With a visible sign of irritation, Bushiyon lets out a loud sigh. "Yes, Lord Rai…" Every soldier on the battlefield obeys Bushiyon's order to retreat, and they fly away from the Capital World.
The elf lookout's gaze shifts to the now empty area where the Ozanian soldiers were stationed, and he feels confused as he sees the ships flying away. "Why are the soldiers leaving? And why is the-," He drops his binoculars and takes a step back as he sees Rai, his hands trembling with fear. "Everyone! It's Rai, Lord of the Nimbus!"
"Rai?! No way!" With binoculars in hand, he turns toward Rai, his eyes widening. "So it's true… he's here…" He signals to his soldiers with a wave of his hand to move forward. "Everyone advance forward! And deploy mobile shields! We're going to give everything we got to defeat him!" As the goblin and elf troops advance toward Rai, the ground shakes with the sound of heavy machinery. They are also shielded by large blue shields, each with a capacity of 50 men.
In a sudden change of mood, Rai's grin turns into a scowl of anger. "They dare try..." He raises his arms and unleashes a force that defies imagination, the magnitude of the power so strong it's capable of leveling thousands of mountains. This force from Rai destroys the enemy's artillery and mobile shields.
The squadron leader struggles to keep his eyes open as the powerful force pummels the army, shielding his face with his arm. "Damn, this power is far beyond anything I've ever seen. It even dwarfs Overlord's power."
"Dammit, our shields are down, and our sentries and hover tanks are destroyed! Everyone retreat! We'll have to devise another plan!" says a soldier.
Rai's devilish smile widens as the soldiers retreat in fear. "Turning your backs on the enemy, not a clever move!" Then Rai's eyes begin to glow with an electric aqua hue, and he ascends into the clouds. "All of you!" Rai's soul-defying echo is so loud it leaves a visible tear in the sky.
"What? What the hell is going on?" The battlefield is filled with an overwhelming sense of dread that courses through the bodies of the goblin soldiers.
The expanse of clear blue skies is replaced by a dark and ominous nimbus cloud, accompanied by distant thunder clapping. Rai raises his hands to the sky, and the crackling sound of lightning echoes through the air. "You shall not enter the gates of Ozania so long as I am emperor of this great Empire. Every threat that tries to attack us… Shall be eradicated from existence!" Declares Rai.
As soon as Rai releases his grip, a colossal lightning bolt strikes and obliterates the entire army of 10,000 soldiers. After the skies turn blue and Rai descends to the ground, he presses his pager to Bushiyon. "All the ground forces have been defeated."
"With the ground forces being eliminated, I presume that's the rest of them."
"Then that's the end of this petty war. Good work, Commander, you did great."
"Thanks, Lord Rai," The call between Rai and Bushiyon ends, and so does the battle with The Goblin Army.
