Arturo turns his head toward Denkei and flashes a relaxed smile. "You and Juyon did well Denkei. Now take it easy. I'll finish this battle for you."
Denkei sips the potion and feels a wave of dizziness wash over him before collapsing onto the floor. "Thank you, Arturo."
Izolly's gaze shifts to Arturo as he hands the other potion to Juyon. Izolly clenches his bat, feeling the adrenaline pumping through his veins. "Right now, he's busy tending to their wounds. I outta attack him right while his back is turned. An opening like this on an opponent like him may never come!" Izolly thinks to himself.
Izolly charges toward Arturo, swinging his bat with furious intensity. As Izolly swings the bat, an otherworldly force is seemingly at play, causing his bat to veer away from Arturo over and over. Izolly furrows his brows in confusion, trying to understand why he keeps missing his swings even though Arturo is standing still. "Why can't I hit him!?" Izolly thinks to himself.
Arturo fans his hands, trying to calm down a frenzied Izolly. "Er, hey, can you please calm down? You're going to overexert yourself."
Izolly's forehead creases in frustration, and a pulsing vein became visible. "Quit taking me for a fool!" Izolly gathers a significant amount of Spark JōKai onto his bat and swings it toward Arturo. "Spark Bat Special Technique: Almighty Death Swing!" The impact of Izolly's bat sends Arturo soaring into the ceiling, his body crashing against it. Izolly places his bat at his side and grins, oozing with confidence. "Heh, Arturo, The Grand Mage, defeated in one swing. Overlord will surely rank me higher than the other specimens after this!"
Izolly's gaze shifts upwards, and he spots an Advanced Creature: Advanced Human young girl wearing vibrant yellow robes with a green outline. Her dark brown hair is styled into bangs with pigtails tied at the back. Her eyes are a lighter hue of hazel, and she wears lengthy black rubber boots up to her shins. She sits cross-legged on the platform, the pages of her spell book rustling in the breeze. Izolly's face lights up with a sporty grin. "Did they send you here to fight me as well? Cause if so, I hope you can pack a better punch than the puny guy I just clobbered."
The girl points behind him, her face devoid of any emotion. "Um, he's right behind you.."
"Heh, there's no way! I just sent him flying through the ceiling!"
"She isn't wrong."
"What?!" Izolly turns around, and his eyes widen in surprise as he sees Arturo levitating in a meditative position. From above, Arturo's clone descends, and it vanishes just as it reaches the ground.
Izolly grunts and clenches his jaw. "I was fighting an illusion this whole time!?"
Arturo inclines his head. "You sending that clone through the ceiling allowed me to use my All-seeing eye spell to search for the apocalyptic weapon. Unfortunately for us, I couldn't find it. So that puts us at a dead end."
"There's no dead end! We knew you would all come here to search for the apocalyptic weapon! It was a trap!"
"Oh, er... I guess I have to stop you from going on any more rampages."
Izolly charges at Arturo and unleashes Spark JōKai, infusing it into his bat. "Stop me! I'd like to see you try!" Izolly leaps into the air, bringing his bat down with a swift motion aimed at Arturo. "Spark Bat: Arc Pummel!" Izolly collides with an unseen barrier, causing him to fly backward and land with a thud. Izolly recovers and limps toward Arturo. "I can't lose here. I have to defeat you."
"Sorry, pal, but I have no choice," Arturo's fingers move in a circular motion, and a blue circle materializes in front of him. "My Opponent Wandered into three of the circles I laid out. I offer his footsteps to separate his body. Magic Spell Law of Great Magic: Body Separation!" Three bright blue circles with white footprints form a perimeter around Izolly, each of their interiors marked with Izolly's auspicious white footprints. As Arturo claps his hands, Izolly's body splits into three parts, each falling to the ground with a thud.
In bewilderment, Izolly gazes at his dismembered body. "What the hell did you do to me, you bastard?!"
"Nothing personal, er, I just wanted to get my comrades to safety," Arturo shoots a glance at the girl. "Hey, er, Chitose, throw down the concealing tube so we can trap him!"
"Ok!" Arturo picks up each of Izolly's body parts one by one and slides them into the tube.
Juyon walks up to Arturo, extending his hand for a handshake. "Thank you."
Arturo returns Juyon's handshake, and they share a moment of eye contact. "Don't mention it."
Denkei hangs his head down, feeling defeated and disappointed after losing to Izolly. "Arturo-San, I'm sorry I failed."
Arturo places his hand on Denkei's shoulder to assure him. "Don't worry, Denkei. On the bright side, I wasn't using Law of Great Magic spells at your age. All that matters is that we defeated this guy. Let's get you and your friend out of here."
Chitose scoffs and folds her arms with a disappointed expression on her face. "I don't know why you think he's so special, Arturo. I learned Law of Great Magic Spells way before he did—"
Denkei casts an annoyed glance in Chitose's direction and shakes his head. "Oh, it's you again… don't you have anything else better to do? Oh, wait…you don't."
Chitose teases Denkei by sticking her tongue out at him. "No, but I am better than you," Chitose glances at Arturo. "I don't know why you sent him with the Warriors instead of me. I would have done so much better than him."
Arturo fluffs Chitose's hair, feeling its softness in his fingers. "I'm sure you would have Chitose.."
Arturo's pager emits a loud beep. "Are Juyon and Denkei ok?" asks Bushiyon through the pager.
"They're both safe…"
"What about the apocalyptic weapon? Is it in the base?"
"Negative. I used my all-seeing eye spell to search the base. Unfortunately, it wasn't there."
"Understood. I tried to relay the info to the other entries, but it seems they're preoccupied with the super-specimens."
"Ok, sir, do you require anything else from me?"
"No, take the entries back to The Ark. I imagine they've sustained heavy battle damage."
"Got it," Arturo finishes the page and shifts his attention to Juyon, Denkei, and Chitose. "Alright, guys, let's get out of here," Arturo waves his hand, and a portal materializes, leading them back to their ship. With a jolt, the spaceship lifts off the surface of Molorx and soars into the vastness of space. Juyon and Denkei sit at a black circular table beside the ship's window, watching the stars twinkle in the vast expanse of space.
"Denkei, thank you for having my back during that battle. It's thanks to you I survived."
"You don't have to thank me. I was doing my job."
