Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Training Begins! Preparations For The Great Battle!

After Rai finishes speaking, a thick silence hangs in the meeting room. Navar's hands tremble with anger as he balls them into fists. "I don't believe it. Why would Ozania do such a thing?"

"The Ozania, which caused the genocide of the elves and goblins, differs from the one that exists today. It was because of the great Reymont King leading a rebellion Rozar's reign ended," says Rai.

"If these events happened, how in the world haven't we heard about it?" asks Juyon.

"The time of Rozar's rule has been erased from all records, as it was a huge black mark on such a prosperous empire as Ozania. It may not have been the best way to go about things, but, It was necessary to keep face amongst the other great factions within the universe."

"Yeah, but I'm still trying to figure out why none of you thought to tell Ol Overlord that the Ozania that did those things to him differs from the one now," says Seiju.

"We had no way of communicating with him, Seiju."

Rai strides down the floor ramp and makes his way to the exit. "I wish I could tell you all more, but I have duties I must attend to. You all have a good day."

"Ok, now that Rai's gone, we'll brief you all on what will happen. The Ozania Training division and Admiral Bartholomew are preparing for a full-scale invasion on Molorx. These preparations will take a week, giving you all that set time to train and prepare," says Bushiyon.

"Is it Ozania-mandated training?" asks Juyon.

"No, how you train will be entirely up to you," says 499.

"Questions?" asks Bushiyon.

"…"

"Good, you're all dismissed."

The meeting concludes, and everyone leaves the room, their voices fading away as they go their separate ways for their training. Navar and Miri arrive at the shuttle bay of The Ark, the sound of the transport ship's engines humming in the background. "So, what should we do with a full week of trainin'?" asks Navar.

"Let's spar with each other every day. That should surely help us become stronger for this battle."

Navar's face glows with a triumphant grin. "Good, you're on!"

Navar and Miri arrive back at Evac-12 and enter a thick forest, the air filled with the musty smell of damp soil and the distant call of wildlife. "Ah, this looks like a good spot to train," says Navar.

Miri shifts her weight back and forth, her hands searching her pockets until she pulls out a creased piece of paper with a series of tally marks. "Luckily, while we were in the hospital, I snagged Jax's tallies."

"Really? What's the score?"

Miri untangles the paper and squints to read the score. "I have 41 wins. You have 39."

Upon hearing the result, Navar angrily stomps his foot in the soft, damp forest dirt. "No way that's true! I swear I beat you more times than you beat me!"

"Ah, that's too bad. The ass kickings I gave you over the years made you lose your memory."

Navar unsheathes his sword and assumes a fighting stance, the blade glinting in the light. "Oh, now you wanna trash talk, bet? Let's fight!"

Miri slides her two daggers in her wrist slots and then readies a battle stance. "You got it."

Navar and Miri run toward each other, and their weapons clash together with a loud clang. The shockwaves ripple through the air, and a shower of sawdust and splinters rain down as the trees fall.

Miri executes a series of backflips, accompanied by crunching leaves beneath her feet. Then she uses JōKai Amplification to launch herself from a nearby tree, propelling her toward Navar with her daggers primed in a thrusting motion. "Two Daggers: Pouncing Strike!"

Navar leaps into the air, his body glowing with a clear aura as he uses JōKai Amplification to increase his strength and match Miri's attack. "Okayasu Blade: Okayasu Parry!"

Navar and Miri's weapons clash and shake the ground with a reverberating force more significant than their last encounter. The power of the clash sends Navar and Miri flying back through countless trees, causing boulders to roll and crumble beneath them.

Navar and Miri take a moment to recover, and the smell of sweat and iron lingering in the air as they walk back toward one another. "Should we count that as a tie?" asks Miri.

Navar flashes a toothy grin as he wipes a trail of blood from the side of his lip. "Nah, let's keep going."

Navar and Miri sprint toward each other, their feet pounding against the ground as they continue their duel. Miri delivers a powerful JōKai Amplification kick to Navar's ribs, which sends him stumbling to the left.

Navar regains his balance and sends a right hook across Miri's jaw, causing her to stagger slightly.

Miri somersaults away from Navar, then plants her hands in the dirt, spinning her legs and arms with astonishing speed. "Two Daggers Leg Variant: Fernir's Wrath!"

Navar's face twists in a mischievous smirk, feeling the rush of air as Miri's attack nears him. "Hah, got ya!" Navar's sword slices through the dirt terrain, the impact sending clods of dirt in Miri's face, causing her to lose her balance.

"Dammit."

Navar grabs Miri by the neck and slams her onto the ground, aiming his blade dangerously close at her face. "I win."

Miri stands up, feeling the grit of the dirt between her fingers as she wipes it off her knees. "Good win, but you still have one less win than me!"

Navar adjusts his grip on the hilt of his blade as he readies himself for more sparring. "Oh, bet! I'll make it twenty more before the day is over!"

For seven hours, Navar and Miri duel tirelessly until they lie sprawled out on the forest terrain. They lie unconscious on the ground until a rustling in the trees sounds rightward of them. Juyon walks forward, scooping them both up onto his strong shoulders. "They sure pushed themselves," Juyon thinks to himself. Juyon places Navar and Miri onto the plush mattresses of their hotel bed suites before exiting the room.

We now go into the POV of a pure neon green transport ship flying toward a giant black planet guarded by Ozanian ships with a floating space outpost. As a guard gazes through the space station, he sees a neon green transport spaceship hovering nearby. "Unidentified transport entering the bay, launch the defense grid," he says over a communications speaker.

A cacophony of engines fills the air as multiple spaceships fly out of the docking station and surround the mysterious transport. "Freeze! You will go no further!" said one pilot through his ship's speakers.

The transport ship emits an intense wave of energy, disabling all the spaceships and the docking station with a shudder. "Dammit, a surge! Alert some higher-ups now! That planet has a valuable that cannot be tampered with!" says a pilot.

The neon green ship descends through the darkness, the smoky black clouds giving way to a terrain made of a gravel-like substance.

Three muscular Goblins standing over 450 centimeters with the same black eyes, lack of eyebrows, and bald heads step out of the ship.

One is adorned with a vibrant red sleeveless Chest Plate, a red kilt, and finished with a pair of brown spiky boots.

The other is wearing a gray, sleeveless chest plate, and their long black pants have a metallic sheen.

The last one is wearing a purple sleeveless chest plate, neon purple metal-textured shorts, and brown, metallic-textured boots.

The three Goblins introduced are known as Izolly, Grolly, and Olly, three of Overlord's super specimens. Izolly is the one in red, Grolly is the one in gray, and Olly is the one in purple.

After hours of searching, they find a large, black-gated cathedral, its imposing presence looming in the distance. Olly observes the towering spires of the cathedral before him, and then he glances at his comrades. "Shall we move along?"

As they enter the building, they arrive in a room with a giant golden cannon, its edges resting against the cold stone walls. "There it is! One of the apocalyptic weapons Overlord desires! Once we have this, the destruction of Ozania will be within our grasp."
