Different parts of pigs were hung up from the edge of the roof. They had been preserved with herbs and salts to keep it fresh. Bai Shuyin picked the pork belly and chopped it up expertly, cutting them into long strips.
She used the fat of the pig as the oil to fry them. The servants had gathered around her when she started to fry the pork belly on the hot iron pot. When the oil was boiled out from the middle, the aroma of the oil whiffed out in the air, smelling so aromatic. However, it was the sizzling sound that Bai Shuyin missed the most.
She used to depend on the air fryer when she was lazy but now, she missed the frying pan at home. After frying the pork belly, she cut them again into bite sized pieces while the oil was kept for other more useful dishes.
