Seeing Chen Kai arrive made Bai Lu even more afraid, and she asked anxiously,
"What's going on here? Who exactly are those cops outside? Why did they bring me to this place? What on earth do you all want to do?"
Chen Kai, upon hearing her questions, immediately guessed that Bai Lu must have realized that these cops were his subordinates.
He sighed helplessly and slowly walked up to Bai Lu, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
"Don't worry, and there's no need to be scared. I'm not really going to send you to the police station. I brought you here because I want you to tell the truth."
He said this while gazing at Bai Lu with sincere eyes.
"I know you certainly couldn't do such things. There must be some compelling reasons behind it all. Tell me, I might be able to help you out."
Bai Lu clearly didn't believe Chen Kai at all and she kept shaking her head.
