Chen Kai stared at him in astonishment.
"What did you say? You're going to study abroad? But what about Xia Yuan? Don't you know how heartbroken she's been these past few days because she couldn't reach you? She's been locked in her room by her father. I tried to save her once, but her father caught me."
Yang Fan shook his head sadly.
"Please tell her I'm sorry for me. Ask her to forget me," he said.
Chen Kai grew anxious.
"Are you serious? After all the hardships, you two finally came together. Are you sure you're ready to give up just like that?"
Yang Fan nodded in pain yet determination.
"There's truly no other way. Her father disagrees, and without his approval, I can't give Xia Yuan a happy life."
Chen Kai became even more anxious and couldn't help but interject.
"What are you saying? Just because Xia Jianying disagrees now doesn't mean he won't ever agree. As long as you two truly love each other, I believe you can overcome all difficulties."
Yang Fan sighed again.
