The secretary was taken aback for a moment before realization dawned, and with an awkward smile, turned around and left, closing the door behind them.
It was then that Chen Kai pressed the answer button.
"Why did you suddenly decide to call?"
From the other end of the line came Gu Nanchen's voice, not heard in a long time.
"Why did it take you so long to answer the phone? Are you busy? If it's not a good time, I can call you back later?"
