Mother Qin and Qin Xiang immediately widened their eyes, seemingly unable to believe what they were seeing. Though they knew the return was imminent, they hadn't expected it to be so swift.
They had no mind to ponder on what Chen Kai had been up to, or why he hadn't returned with Qin Ying. They hurried to the door, with Mother Qin dramatically embracing Qin Ying.
"My good girl, where have you been? Do you have any idea how heartbroken we were searching for you? Do you know how desperate we were? Did Chen Kai tell you?"
"The misdiagnosis was a complete misunderstanding. You don't need to die, you can live many, many more years in this world."
Qin Ying gently pushed away Mother Qin.
"Mom, don't hold me like this, I'm really tired."
Mother Qin immediately came to her senses and gave an apologetic smile.
"I'm so sorry. In my haste, I completely forgot that you haven't been eating properly these days."
