"What did you just say? You said Chen Kai ordered you to kill Lu Kuan?"
JC looked incredulous.
Yet, the thug appeared quite relaxed, even offering a faint smile and a nod.
"Yes, that's how it was."
JC felt the gravity of this revelation. He regarded the thug with a piercing gaze.
"Are you willing to accuse him face-to-face?"
The thug nodded again.
"That's exactly why I'm here."
JC let out a long sigh.
"Wait here for a moment."
With that, he stood up and walked out, soon approaching Chen Kai.
"A thug from outside claimed you instigated him to kill Lu Kuan. Do you have anything to say?"
Chen Kai was taken aback, momentarily dazed as he struggled to comprehend what was happening. After all, he had no idea who the murderer was, so how could he have possibly given the order?
Chen Kai looked at JC, clearly puzzled.
"This is no joking matter. I've told you time and again, I didn't kill Lu Kuan."
JC stared back at him, his gaze icy.
