Upon entering, he saw Chen Kai and Qiao Zique, his gaze flashed with a hint of surprise, immediately followed by a welcoming smile.
"What a rare visit, how come you have time to stop by my place today?"
The question left Chen Kai somewhat bemused.
"Are you implying that it was a mistake for us to come today? If that's the case, we should probably leave. Sticking around probably wouldn't make sense."
The shopkeeper laughed awkwardly and quickly stopped Chen Kai.
"It's my fault, my poor choice of words. How could I let you guys leave? It's usually hard enough to get you to come."
Chen Kai just laughed it off and took a seat. He didn't actually intend to leave. He simply found the shopkeeper's presence endearing and wanted to play a joke on him.
The shopkeeper caught on pretty quickly. It was just Chen Kai messing with him, so he chuckled.
"Sit here for a bit, let me get things ready. I'll start cooking for you soon."
