An Mengyao had been resting for so long that her numb limbs had eased quite a bit, but she remained motionless, for she had been scared by the scene previously unfolded. It was even more terrifying than if Chen Kai had taken on dozens of people on his own.
When Chen Kai saw the fear in An Mengyao's eyes, he gave her a faint smile.
"Don't feel sorry for them. These people have committed too much evil. This outcome is too lenient for them."
An Mengyao didn't know what to say, so she just nodded in silence.
"By dealing with them like this, they're bound to be even more enraged, and you should be careful. The people who came here today are not their entire force; if they gather another group to come at you, you'll be in real trouble."
As she spoke, it was as if she suddenly remembered something and let out a gasp.
"Oh my, I'm such a fool! How could I forget something so important?"
