The incoming call displayed the name "Qin Min". She couldn't wait to answer. Before she could even speak, Qin Min's excited voice came through.
"The bar is really noisy, so I didn't hear your call. What's up? Do you miss me or something?"
Upon hearing the excited tone of the caller, Chen Kai became increasingly annoyed.
"Miss you? We're having dinner right now. You left without a word. I thought you may have run into some trouble and I was about to contact Gao Ming."
Qin Min was somewhat taken aback by Chen Kai's words and tried to explain with a forced laugh.
"Aren't you exaggerating? I'm safe and sound here, and I'm with my friends. So, I won't be coming home for dinner tonight. You guys go on without me."
Chen Kai heard the noisy background on the other end of the phone and the faint sound of music, which made him suspect she might be at a bar. His anxiety levels spiked.
"Never mind that for now, where are you?"
Qin Min was somewhat helpless and even slightly impatient.
